To ensure Federation Victory, I have taken the Kzinti children. That is all.

Victory is already assured.  The Klingons have fallen so far that they now need to rob convenience stores.

Clerks Recognize Sword As 'Bat'leth'

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A surveillance picture released by police Wednesday afternoon shows a man armed with what appears to be a small Klingon sword, holding up a 7-Eleven convenience store.

That same man robbed another 7-Eleven store store a half-hour later, and remains at large, Colorado Springs police Lt. David Whitlock said.

The first robbery was reported at 1:50 a.m., at 145 N Spruce St. The clerk told police a white man in his 20s, wearing a black mask, black jacket, and blue jeans, entered the store with a weapon the clerk recognized from the Star Trek TV series.

Do you know Kzinti military history?  It is full of defeats when fighting other star travellers.  They only ever won when fighting those of pre impulse tech.  Which explains why they are a Federation client state.

That is the weapon of a "bone head Klingon".  The true Imperial Klingons (TOS style) know better than to fool around with obsolete weapons.  They also know better than to leave witnesses.

Day of the Dove stated that Klingons maintained a dueling tradition.  TNG just gave them a signature blade.

How many Bat'leth in that episode?  They used real functional swords not those atrocities.

The Bonehead Klingons didn't duel they brawled.  A dueling tradition is a formal system with rules and styles, not brawling.

Not Klingon dueling.  What class of proficiency was Worf at with the Bat'leth?

All of the blades produced by the in that episode appeared to be earth style.  Possibly so that the primarily human crew could be on a more equal footing and provide the entity with a better feast.  As for the rules, post TOS Klingon society has rules concerning duels, ie. what constitutes a legitimate honor duel.

Mostly those rules involve a lot of screaming, boasting, and threatening beforehand, followed by a lot of flailing about with unwieldly objects covered in irregular edges.

Bah!  TOS Kilingons knew when to just pull a trigger and kill someone.
