Best end of Series

My vote goes Voyager, there final episode just rocks, and the last few minutes totally pwn any other series as far as final episode goes. Though What you Leave Behind was a close second, both made you feel a finality to it but with hope and you where happy at the outcome, as you felt connected with both crews.

Enterprises second to the last should have been the end, But B&B had to get there final  screw you to the fans in there.

Both Endgame and These are the Voyages made me cry when they were released.  Such promise and they had to take a cheap way out (voyager) or totally not care (enterprise) (valentine to the fans my arse).

The Turnabout Intruder was never intended to be a final episode, TOS was just cancelled out of the blue.  So I had to choose between All Good Things and What you Leave Behind.  Though choice.  As What you leave behind was the only one that didn't involve time travel (yay!), it took a good lead, until I remembered the All Good Things, had Q.  Not the neutered Q from Voyager, but the Q that screws with you and doesn't care either way.  The "Good" Q.  Q trumps the no time-travel in my book.

Well in all honesty All good things would be my second choice, and I had to carefully weigh my choice there.
I just generally liked the end of Voyager, although it did seem a bit rushed.

But blowing up the Borg sphere , Man that was exciting.

It is kinda odd though. I never did care for Encounter at Farpoint. now mind you I had an ex-wife ask me why do you like this (dirtyword), and I was wondering the same thing as the guys paraded around in there skirts.

It wasn't until season 2-3 that I really started to like it.

That's funny, I like the earlier TNG the best (seasons 1-3), but I don't exactly know why. It probably had to do with the campy soundset and alien costumes, but it just had a different feel to it than the later seasons. You can't forgive them for firing Ron Jones (the SFC1 music man) for his music being too "noticeable!"

The only two finales which are worth rewatching are all good things, and What you Leave Behind.  As Lieutenant Q pointed out, turnabout intruder was not intended as a series finale, and even if it was, its still one of my least favorite TOS episodes.  Having Kirk's psycho ex-girlfriend switch bodies with him, and go around the ship throwing tantrums was stupid.  The only redeeming quality of the episode, was watching Shatner walk around filing his nails.  Voyager was my least favorite Trek series, so noone should be surprised with me not considering the finale to be the best.  I liked Enterprise as a series, but I though the end was pretty weak.  Of the two that I liked, I would have to go with DS9.  Although it got a little Star Warsish at the the end, I thought it did an excellent job closing the dominion war story arc.  The one thing I disliked about it, was that they set up a brilliant concept with Sisko not having a linear life, but failed to use it.  It would have been interesting to have him show up for an episode of Enterprise for instance.

If we're discussing the pilot episodes, I think Emissary, and Broken Bow were the two best ones.  Encounter at Farpoint like most of the early TNG was kind of weak, Caretaker was okay.  The Cage, and Where No Man has gone before were both good episodes, but suffer from the fact that they were only one parters rather than two hour premiers.

I had a hard choice between Endgame and All Good Things.  Endgame however, is a GREAT episode, but it doesn't really bring the total closure of what they do afterwards or even give hints like What you leave behind does for DS9.   I enjoyed the stuff in Endgame better by far then DS9's finale, but Endgame just didn't have the right end for me.

However, All Good things was a GREAT episode with what I felt was a proper closure for the series, so that's what I chose for the best conclusion.

DS9 with What you leave behind would probably come in third for me, and as for closure had the BEST closure of all the series.

These are the Voyages was boring to the point that I still have to watch it without fast forwarding through it.

Turnabout Intruder, as someone already commented wasn't meant to be the series finale...and it shows...

Well, if you're going to count The Undiscovered Country as a finale, it would be the best.  It once more showcases the talents of Nicholas Meyer, and in my opinion, the theme of the film makes it an excellent companion to the Wrath of Kahn.  TWOK being about vengeance, while TUC is about forgiveness.

As flawed as Voyager was overall, I voted for it. It was an ending and a very entertaining one at that.  I thought DS9 was a close second. All good things didn't really feel like an ending and turnabout intruder sucked like most of the third season did. I still haven't watched the Enterprise last episode, seeing how most everyone who has seen it, despises it.

"These are the Voyages" was not a f*&% you. For an example of a true F-U, see the last episode of Seinfeld. "Enterprise" got good it's last season but had too far to go for a "real" ender, so they leapt ahead and tried something else. Since even then it was obviously the end of the TNG/Roddenberry/Berman era, they tried to tie in the previous 17 years.

An experiment, yes.
I liked it.
Others did not.
A f*ck you? Nope, don't think so.

Rant mode disengaged.

I liked how Voyager's end resolved the "lost in space" storyline (although I would have preferred them still "out there") and it was exciting, but nothing matches "All Good Things..." Especially the last shot. Boldly going and all that...

I'm frankly surprised how well DS9's ending is being remembered. I found it to be rushed and rather incoherent, with out-of-character wrap-ups for everyone, including one of the best characters suddenly being whisked off by the gods for no reason. Sloppy writing, the main antagonist gets brushed away, and a overall feeling of let's-just-get-this-over-with over the whole episode.

Wait, I swear I was writing the above about "What You Leave Behind" and not the awful end to BSG (which, if it hadn't be caused by laziness and utter lack of planning, could be considered a giant F U to the fans)

The whole last season disappointed. There's that stupid Holodeck Vic guy (or as I call him, the Jar-Jar Binks of Star Trek) taking up valuable screentime. Or taking something interesting and challenging like Section 31 and turning them into leather-clad Nazi clone bad guys. There were some good episodes ("The Seige of AR-588" is one of the best of Trek, all time) but the ender was a clunker for me.

I liked the beginning of TNG remind me more of TOS as DC Fontana as the producer under Gene.I would of gone with Tos but it really didn't have an ending.I went with DS9 I like Ezri in the end as well as over all to bad it was just the ending season.
