My point is that the 300 GPU hasn't even been released yet. Maybe it'll arrive by Christmas, maybe not. If I ran Nvidea and I was going to have my new cards released before Christmas, I sure as hell would be letting people know. The last thing I'd want is for any of my current customer base to be jumping ship for 5800 series cards if mine were going to be released soon. Nobody outside of Nvidea knows when it's going to happen.
While I'm sure it will be an excellent GPU I'm definitely waiting to see, and also, see the price. Nvidea really likes to bend it's customers over as far as they can get away with. Also, from what I've read, the specs they've released are for the Tesla cards which are thousands of dollars. While I'm sure that as many as possible of those specs will be on the 300 consumer cards, maybe all of them who knows, they aren't necessarily the specs for the cards we will be buying to play games on or model with.
