If it's sized as a fighter, it doesn't really need to be very accurate.  Maybe some people play differently than me, but I get too involved in actually playing to spend too much time studying the models, and the fighters are so small they are hard to see at all.

But the design actually could work as a larger vessel.  If the domes are modified to look less like cockpits, it could be a small cutter or corvette type of vessel.

How much of the poly limit is in the game itself?  My computer isn't very new, and the video card wasn't top of the line when it was, and it has no problem running games like NWN2 or Oblivion.  I've had swarms of Imperial shuttles on screen without any stuttering.  I don't think anyone ever made a low-poly fighter sized shuttle.  The only ones I've seen were as big as frigates and had to be resized.

How's the cruiser in the previous post coming along?  I really want that one.  We just about have enough ships to have a functioning Galactic Imperial fleet.  But we need more small ships, something to use against frigates and destroyers.

Thanks Markyd i hope you can say the same thing when i finish the model , i am going to make the textures from scratch on this one i cant afford to buy this toy for my boy for pics.

JohanobesusII  A proper clone wars battle you would see 2 of these gunships and a tank carrier 3 in a group. 3 groups per platoon i belive , ive seen 9 ships land at 1 time 6 of them were this ship 3 where tank carriers. 1500 poly max or you will get major lag when you see the 6k dropship and tank. :P
The lego ventnator is gona take a while unless you want it like it is with typical isd textures. That lego ship is going to have about 10k in little lego cylnders added to it LOL. What are you needing ? I assume you are useing a victory class , ventnator class, the typical isd and ssd. Have you seen the Gadiator class http://sfc.battleclinic.com/docks/view.php?id=4636  Or Faragut class assault cruiser http://sfc.battleclinic.com/docks/view.php?id=4632 There is the Sith stardestroyer that might be of some use   http://sfc.battleclinic.com/docks/view.php?id=4694 And the Sith Infiltrator can be a ff if needed.http://sfc.battleclinic.com/docks/view.php?id=4591. Ive got more Sith/Empire classes ;) keep checking this thread,  textures ,time and gmax exporting it without crashing my pc is the issue there. :)  Check battleclinic for the Ventnator victory and other Empire/Sith classes .

Edit
MY victory class models are NOT at battleclinc i will have to upload them  :crazy2: some might like that havent already seen them.

Thank you but i wish i could claim i created the texture  from scratch, All i did was take pics of a toy and edit the results to fit my mesh in the eyes of some thats LAME CRAP but the model did come out 1/2 way decent after the 5th maping attempt  :crazy2:. I am questioning the number of downloads at battleclinic though 1200 for 2 weeks online some one has a bot downloading it LOL.
Here is my Y wing and the last model to be released unitll i finish my BSG project , This thread will continue to annoy ALL you TREK fans  :buck2:
:-X i am sick of playing with this model and NOT geting any better results thanks to "vista" or other issues on my pc. I am releaseing this one as crappy as it is in hopes someone maybe from another community can fix it to where it wont crash my windows at export to .mod!!

If you run out of ideas, look at all the civilian faction ships in SWG.

I lost most of my screens, but this is a BlackSun Heavy Fighter.  There are a lot of Blacksun and Hutt types.

wonder if anyone has ever got the ship meshes out of that game?  This is an ingame screen btw, they are pretty nice.

Whats SWG i dont recall it?  The only starwars game i play these days is EAW/foc.
I love that station in the background Ive got to model it up for SFC do you know where i can find closer immages of it? Same with that fighter i could use this pic to model it but the model wont be as accurate as i cant see everything?

I will never run out of starwars ideas  ;)   there are way to many designs for the Lucas arts games let alone the 6 movies and Fan designs. Pick and chooseing what to do is harder than modeling some of them  . I love requests  Like these stations i was given 5 designs to model and was happy to all heck to see what was needed {easy modeling for me} and i dont have to map and make textures for them {bonus :P}.

The Game is Star Wars Galaxies, its an MMO from SOE, been around about 6 years, the space part of it is pretty good.  All fighter and gunboat,

I have a VT 48 Decimator, Imperial gunboat with two turrets, big guns, and 3 missile tubes controlled by the pilot.   Takes 5 to fly her, pilot, two gunners, countermeasures and copilot, and a damage control person.  Huge mass, you can put some nice comps in her.  And, walk around inside.

I could pay up a month I suppose and take screens, one of my chars is Freelance so has all the interesting ships.  Those Stations are huge, you can actually fly into the bay on them.

I have a KSE, an Actis, a Bel 22 (grevious ship) Naboo fighter, lots of TIES on my Imperial, heh.  I played it since 2003, hence my departure from here when SFC 3 started.  I still hate SFC 3, and the stupid thing still refuses to run past ship creation.  Still in the box, I've installed it like three times.

Ill take a lot of screens if I pay up again.  Woot found the place, three views and a perspective shot of most ships.

Speaking of Textures.. that site shows the actual ships, they are that pretty.
