You know if your making a Deathstar, which is still under construction.... You could maybe try using Intersteallar Machine's Transparency technique..... Would make for some seriously massive and funky detail without you even needing to go over 10K
If i can figure it out i sure will try but you know me and textures dont mix well. Maping something like this might prove to be a bigger task. Hell my Mangaguard fighter hasent come out to well and i am on my 4th remap of the mesh, im releaseing it on the 5th try no matter what
Well, I also recommend that you release this on http://empireatwar.filefront.com/ there are a lot of great texture artists over there as well who I'm sure would jump on tweaking any of the ships you release. There's a lot more active texture artists/model makers collaborating over there at the present time.
I can't wait for the Venator variant and I'm sure the EAW folks will jump on the chance to retexture it for you.
I like your stuff, its too bad I don't have the time and tools to be more helpful these days. If nothing else, your base models and their texture sets can be used to represent initial production runs or squadron variants.

I do have a large # of models in eaw Nomanda Firefox has converted damn near all my older StarWars work. I havent chated lately but he has the ok to port my new stuff if he wants and Unitedstudios has the ok to use my work at their desire, i think they are working on a BSG conversion of eaw useing some my models i did for the Sins of the 13th tribe BSG mod in the Sins of a Solar empire game. Which reminds me i need to release them here i guess too
One of the reasons i dont release to other games is all i have now is Gmax and i dont even know if there are plugins for those games. .mod file is all i can export to at this point and even some of my new models i wont be able to release without outside help. I am getting rundll32 crashes that restart explorer and wont stop untill i deleate the .mod . I have made the republic Y wing 2 times now and none of the copys in the texture stage will export with out that crash. Vista might be the end for my Gmax fun.

The base mesh is under 1k - engine stuff there i might try to detail it up and make it look legoish. But anyhow there will be atleast 3 variants released pending they dont crash my damn pc at export.
