A momma cat has had her kittens, saw them for the first time tonight. Momma has lost her fear of me and even let me rub her tonight for the first time. Now how do you intice the kittens to not run away so one can nabem, yes I'd take care of the whole lot there would be four with momma as Ive seen three for sure.

It's taken me most of this year to get momma to stop running when I would get too close, but a lot of talking to her did the trick, dought if that would work on the kittens and I dont want them hurting themselvs trying to run away when I go over there. the House in question is owned by my landlord and is empty right now, so there is no problem with people overthere.

I'd say just keep up what you are doing. Bring a snack for mom so she can keep a good supply of milk and the young will learn from her that you are alright.

The baby kitties will take their lead from the momma. The more the momma comes around, teh braver they'll get.

Yep just keep bringing some food for mama kitty and the little ones will come around. Make sure you bring water for mama she will need it.

Aside from the obvious food and water, mother cats at this point tend to move their kittens around a lot. Provide a small, warm, dry, cozy soft secure shelter (or two) and she will likely use it. (low traffic hideaway type areas) Don't try and force it though, she will put them where she wants to put them no matter what. Only intervene in the case of dangers a cat just cannot see. (fibreglass, gas & oil waste.. etc) Also, I hate to say it but a frequently changed litterbox in a dry and very secure location might draw her attention too (nursing mother cats consume the kittens waste and the result is that hers is particularly foul - the scent is a security liability). For mother cats it is all about security.

Well now I got a problem as there are 5 kittens plus momma the 3 I saw plus momma would not have been a problem, but now that I saw two more, I'm not too sure I can take care of 6 cats, as much as I would like too. and Momma will now let me pick her up, and she'll even follow me for a bit but I'm kinda at a loss on what to do with 5 kittens.

There really is no shelter out here that I could take them to, and finding homes would also be a problem, as most of the people Iv'e asked allready don't want any more pets.

I Suppose I should not have started to try and get her to trust me but I just hate seeing homeless animals, that and I've been kinda wanting another pet to take care of.

Wll I got two of the kittens in the house, I'm leaving momma and the three other where they are for now. I tried to get momma to stay inside for a bit but she freaked out so I let her back out side, might be where she stays, but if I can get the kittens then I know I can get them used to being indoors.

I had to call 911 last night as one the damn things desided to get into my engine and I could not get it to come out. But between us we finaly managed to get it and I went to work.

The two kittens in the house lost their fear of me and now they are mine, the other three still bolt when they see me,so I still got work to do on them. The two in the house have settled in quite quickly they are now eating their kitten food, gonna have to watch them to work on the box training.
