Blue Screen of Death Help pls...
« on: July 15, 2009, 10:03:38 am »
Howdy everybody,  I just reinstalled OP and I'm getting a BSOD when I try to maximize game.  The game will minimize just fine,  but when I goto maximize it I get BSOD and my PC reboots.  Anybody else had this issue.  It really gets annoying because it makes it hard to host a game because if somebody drops and they need a relaunch I cant do it because of the crash when I maximize the game back...  All my drivers are up to date.   Run 6x AA 16xAF would that have anything to do with it?  Thanks everybody.
Thanks alot,

make sure your computer screen and the game are running the same resolution.

I have found you can't minimize the game and bring it back unless you are looking at a ship's specs in the spacedock.
I grant you your soul, but not your life.
Be happy that I have found a measure of mercy.

I have been able to have it min/max in a game (combat screen) but it is flaky and is real slow on my machine (darn windows key).

check to see in the sfc.ini file that "windowed=0" is actually "windowed=1"

EDIT:  On that note, I can't play windowed either way.  I'm running WinXP x64 with a dual monitor setup and I'd sure like to be able to change the CD in winamp on the other screen without quitting the game if there's a fix or workaround.  The game seems to load fine in windowed mode, but nothing but the cursor appears on screen.

machine stats if it'll help:

Pentium D 2.66GHz (dual)
1GB RAM
ATI Radeon X200 (integrated) @ 1280x1024 (monitor 1, secondary)
ATI Radeon X300 @ 1280x1024 (monitor 2, primary)

2nd EDIT: typos.  ugh.

3rd edit:
switching the monitors between the cards didn't help.  (i.e. making monitor 1 the primary instead of monitor 2)

I was never here, you were never here, this conversation never took place, and you most certainly did not see me.
