TOS Campaign 2009 Rules
« on: June 13, 2009, 12:45:02 am »
***************************TOS-FF-Rules**************************
I would like to Admin a new Unity Campaign these are the rules I would like to work under.

1. LOS (line of supply) this means that you may only move to or attack a hex that borders a hex that is your color.

2. Leaving LOS: You may leave LOS if you want but if you are attacked you must load in to the battle and it will be a death match. IF you leave the battle you will have to self destruct your ship. Do not strip your ship before self destruct If caught stripping your ship you account will be deleted. If you are the invader and you go over the line by mistake you must redo the battle the defender will have the option of having each ship go to the dock for repairs and redoing the battle (in the same Hex) or going back in with no repairs and finishing the battle.

3. If you are attacked you must load in to the battle if you are not in a death match situation and you don't want to fight leave. If a player consistently can't load with the opposing teams this player must sort out his/her issues before returning to the front lines. This player may flip hexes in LOS territory but may not attack or defend players bases or planets until they have fixed the connection problem. Consistently means more than a few times and if it just happens with one player and you load fine with every one else then these rules do not apply. To clarify load standards do not apply to people on your own team. You have to be able to load with the opposing teams.

4. Prestige exploits I don't care if you find them go ahead and use them.

5.Alliances are permitted and this will be up to the race leaders (RLs) and only the race leaders. No one needs to know of or about an alliance except the races involved. You must have LOS unless you are on your own color regardless of alliances. Plan accordingly. This means you both must have LOS to the territory you are attacking. If you want to run mission in your space with allies IE like a freighter mission. That is fine. So two races that are allied each must have LOS to attack a enemy hex planet base or player. You may not attack each other to lower DV value you may not use AI ships to lower DV value of a hex or planet.

6. You may not attack a playable race’s Homeworld NO EXCEPTIONS!

7. Screenshots; If you do not have screenshots of someone going out of LOS then forfeiting a death match or warping out of one then don’t even bring it up to the admins. Sorry but there is nothing that can be done about this without proof. To take a screenshot use the F12 key, you will find the screenshot in your screenshots folder located in the game files.

8. VC's will be posted in race forums.

9. Kill thread rules:Format

You - Ship class - status

Vs

Them - ship class - Status

brief description

Keep smack talk to minimum please ... open another thread for that

Post Screen shot

BB = 100
DN = 75
BCH = 50
CA = 25

But the level of backstabbing that goes on probably makes things more interesting.

Instead of just saying that you think the rule sucks you should post why you think it sucks.

I don't think it sucks.  I was pointing out that with secret alliances, there's probably a large opportunity for intrigue, and that probably adds a lot of depth to the campaign.

I believe it was about Dizzys post.  But your message was the last in the chain and it had the quote from Dizzy in it.

Tis the smell of programming.

Dude, 3-sided wars are awesome.  AOTK:2 might have been my favorite server.   I wish we had enough players to run servers with diplomacy and dynamic alliances.

I learned two things from AOTK:2:  1 -  You can trust Chutt to keep his word for 48 hours.  2-  Never trust the Klingons  :D
Who'd thunk that Star-castling was the root of all evil . . .
