SFC2?  SFC3?

That's a very majestic looking design. Plush and luxurious...

have yea ever thought of using the saucer and nacelles to update the miranda class..after all, the saucer is almost miranda ready as it is, just a new rollbar and launcher are needed.

I always liked the back story on the Churchill. I was wondering what the Klingon response to the Churchill might have been.

This is the high-poly model that I designed and built in 3-d studio max a long time ago.  There are versions out there for sfc2 and bridge commander that I made. I think they are availiable at staryards.  The weapons and stats are available on the blueprints.

Been a long time since I saw your High end version, or I should say the orginal version. Did you ever consider making a fleet of ships that match her design?

Nice to see you around forums again too Anarion, don't think I have seen you since the last time you posted at Sci-Fi meshes with this ship. There are several versions of the lower poly one 2 different ones I think with multiple texture sets for each for BC and all three versions of SFC. Think someone also ported it to legacy as well. You can find the different versions at Filefont for most games, battle clinic for SFC and at the Staryards for SFC 1+2

Oh and Paladin the orginal shown here would be too high in polies for SFC, SFC 3 might be able to do if the model is under 22,000 polies the limit of the x render file. SFC 2 might if you broke it into three parts and expoted it, I think you can get a 60,000 poly ship to run that way
People always said they wanted the government to listen to them and now the government is listening, taking notes and names...and coming to see you soon!

I got bored with making ships and I went to character modeling....but I haven't done anything in a while.  I'm too busy these days with work and finishing my engineering degree.

I am so pleased that my ship (design) is still around.  I encourage everyone to re-model it if they want to.  I'm sure that there are people out there that can do it better.  I google it from time to time.

The Churchill is my baby.  All I ask is that you treat her with the same love that I have.

If my modeling skills weren't so poor, I'd build my own Churchill class, but maybe with an early TNG refit touch in addition to the original.

Oh, and Anarion, I'm sending you my cleaning bill.  I had an accident when I saw them pretty pictures.

Actuall that model really doesn't need any surface changes for early TNG. Just change the Penets to TNG ones and up the phasersfrom type 8s to type 9s. They actually did a type 9 ball turret phaser for the Excelsiores once they went into major production many of the  older ships could have receved them in refits.

True, but I like going a little further than that.  :-D

So you are really looking for a Post Domminion War refit. Got to justify the cost of a major overhaul of an 80 year old ship after all.

Not really a Post Dom War refit.  Could be a lost era refit easily that doesn't utilize phaser bank turrets only.  Could be a moderate upgrade.

If I could model worth a damn, and believe me I wish I could, I would have done it already, but alas, I cannot.  :-(

We NEED a miranda using that saucer and nacelles. Maybe a few other classes could be derived too.

Actually, its not that easy. The problem with the low-poly mesh is that the entire saucer and body is a single element - you'd have to rip it apart rather carefully and there's going to be gaps - which means massive bridging and capping - remapping, and retexturing.

I'm well aware of that.  I'm very clean when it comes to extracting parts from models and I can now cap them very well.  The mapping however, that I can't do.

I'll look into it - but no promises. You might want to use my mesh since I've cleaned it up.
