Abby, the D.Net Dog has passed away.
« on: April 20, 2009, 03:28:25 am »
Abby, the rottie we saved about a year and a half ago, has passed away.

We noticed her having some rapid breathing tonight, and after I left to go to work, it got worse, with her tongue turning a bit bluish. Jan (my wife) and Ashley (my daughter) took her to the emergency room vet. From the X-rays it appeared that she had several tumors in her lungs, we elected to try and save her but she died.

She was such a loving dog, she had gotten to run with our other pups, as well as sleeping with us at night. We will miss her so very very much already.

Abby Petermeier
2001-2009*

May she rest in peace.

*2001-2009 is an estimate, based up on the vet's estimation of her age.  D.net users and my family rescued her almost a year and a half ago.

Regards,

OMG... Frey I'm so sorry.  Rescue dogs always seem to be the most appreciative animals.  Why do the good ones have to go so early?

Frey, Abby, and Jan, I am so sorry to hear this. Just remember the kindness that was shown here, and the great times you had while she was with you. Add to that, you did a good thing by providing for her a great home in her final years.

My condolences.  Just from the pictures I can see she was a great dog.

 Frey I'm so very sorry !! :(

I know it can really hit you hard, when you don't have time to prepare your self.

Just remember you gave her a good life, and she was loved. Thats all anybody can really ask for.

 I'm so sorry.

I'm Sorry to hear this, she will be in my prayer.

It's always hard to lose a animal, at least it is for me because to me they are part of the Family.

She looks like a beautiful dog so you guys  made her happy for the final days and I'm sure she was grateful ....

RIP - Abby

she was a fantastic dog. everything that she went through and she was still loving and friendly. i got to meet her and the other two pups while i was down for halloween last year. at first she was shy, but after a couple of days she wanted to sit on me all the time and loved a good head rub. she also liked to lick you as a sign of affection. i miss her and i give frey and his family my heart felt condolences.

i did a small shaman ceremony last night in her honor. blessing her passage and thanking her for her time with us.

i will always remember the time i saw her and her two puppy-friends zoey and logan running around the back yard at frey's chasing each other with her tongue hanging out and a very apparent smile on her cute face. it was so darn cute!

I am so sorry, Frey.

You did a great thing for her and made her last few years wonderful.  I know she loved you for it, and I know you will miss her.

I lost a friend who looked quite a bit like her a while back.  'My condolences' doesn't say enough.
