Topic: SFC2 Conquest Mode... "The character you are attempting to use..."

Hey guys, I'm new here, didn't think I'd be able to find anywhere to get information on this game!

So I just started up Conquest Mode for the first time, running the .bat file included in the install directory.  I started up a conquest campaign, upgraded once and saved.  And now, whenever I try to load the save from the conquest campaign, it comes back with the message

"The character you are trying to use is already logged in!"

And if I try to load again, it simply freezes the game.

Is there a walkthrough or a tutorial on how to get just the basics of conquest mode to work correctly?  I'm not sure if it's even working incorrectly as I did read the disclaimer the .bat file displays before using it. 

I'm not sure where to start with troubleshooting here, any pointers would be great!

Edit:  Thought I should add that this is SINGLE PLAYER conquest mode.  I'm attempting nothing online... Which is why the error confuses me... I didn't even know I had a character to log in.

Hi there!

Sorry to tell you, but Conquest Mode in Empires At War is fubar (at least it was out of the box - I'm not sure if it ever got fixed.) The one in Orion Pirates works though.
