Looking for help on SFB info from you table toppers.
« on: March 17, 2009, 09:38:48 pm »
Hey guys,

I posted this in the SFC4 forums, but I'm hoping I can get a quicker response if I bring it to your guys' attention. This is regarding the Drone system in SFB, (which drones can fit what in what drones). Here is what the original question contained (found here: http://www.dynaverse.net/forum/index.php/topic,163385834.0.html)

Hey guys,

I'm trying to read through what SFB material I have. I'm trying to get my head around Drones. There are so many rules its confusing. Here's what I think I understand:

There are multiple drone racks that drones can sit on: DRN-A, DRN-B, DRN-C, etc. Each of these can support certain sized drone bodies.

There are multiple drone bodies: Type I, Type II, Type III, etc. Each of these have a baseline statistic that varies from model to model. Each individual drone has a Space and a Size. The size deterimes what type of DRN rack can handle it, while the Space determines what kind of modules you can fit in it.

Do I have it right? I don't understand how you have improved speed (fast missiles, slow missiles, etc) then, would those be modules you fit into the drone's space?

God damn confusing if you ask me....

Hey guys,

It's me again, and I am in need of a favor once again. Basically I'm looking to find out what years technologies are available. Now, I have some of the game books, but thumbing through the whole thing section by section by section is a pain, and is frankly not helpful. Apparently the G3 (which is a book I do not have) has a Technology Timeline. Basically, I think, I haven't actually seen it, it shows the various ship systems available at what Y-year. This is precisely what I need. I need to answer questions like "what year did Type-IV drones come into use?" "when did the Phaser-1?" etc etc etc.

If anyone has a copy of the G3 module, I'd love it if they could toss me an email, lest I have to shell out $30 that I don't have.
