ok, got it fixed. it was my keyboard. swapped it out with something from the 90's. currently, tho... i cant use the shift key while typing. it opens my favorites menu and jumps me to another site. wtf is going on...

anyway... ill have to look at getting back into the server running business... getting the itch to blow sh*t up.

Try cleaning one or both of your keyboards...

Yeah, it takes a while, disassembly, popping every key off, alcoholing each key to remove sticky junk, popping them back in, then wiping down the "plastic circuitry" with an alcohol-based wipe, then reassembling the whole mess...

However, for the hour's or so work on this (shorter if I get my oldest to help pop and replace the keys), I've restored many a spill devastated or just plain dirty keyboard to full functionality for a couple of months, letting me stash some cash to buy a new keyboard...

i think what we are really waiting for here is word on whether op will run on vista and windows 7. cuz right now, half our population base cant play the d2... and i have no interest running a server when only the coalition are gonna be able to login, cuz i know they cant afford a new os... hehehe.  :P

I am still on XP but due to D2 rules I can't play as you have to turn your firewall off which I refuse to do.

Negative. I run XP on my tablet.

If no one else wants to try it I can try it soon.

It's not that we can't afford a new OS, we simply have NO desire to be test subjects of Microsoft. WE use what works, YOU can use the newer OS's if you choose as they'll provide you many excuses when the coalition hands you you're AZZ.

Windows 7 is a no-go for Dyna.    :'(

That looks like a prime excuse to put some serious effort into getting OP and the Dyna to work under WINE.  EVERYONE can afford Linux, and we're all a few posts away from instructions on how to set it up once someone figures it out.

Bonk might be leading the charge on a "new" SFC and hopefully something might happen.  OP is dead, long live OP.

I was kidding, Malak.

Well sh*t. We are f*cked. I cant see asking everyone to run their comps on older OS's. So till SFCOP gets a facelift in the OS and Connection stability department, this is dead. What a shame too... This game f*cking rocks.

I will play until there is no server to play on.... :hoppin:

The forge is still up...

I remember when everyone was willing to buy a brand new machine just to play SFC...

Well?

How about you buy a cheap used one with XP and get back online.

why dont u put up a post, crim and see how many peeps post in with XP and promise to play an SG server. I'd be interested in knowing how many peeps are even able to logon. Subtract from that total those who run routers and wireless modems.  :P

Well, I have two XP machines.  Also a router, but I can get past it.  (port forwarding, and sometimes just jack in ahead of the router)

I'm with Dizzy on this -  I think the technical headaches have just been too much of a pain for people to bother anymore.

I've got an XP/Windows 7 dual-boot so I could do this but no way in hell am I going into a scenario where I have to fly 60 hours a week to keep my side from getting wiped off the map.
