Add-on cooling fans
« on: February 19, 2009, 03:34:56 pm »
I was about to buy the manufacturers add-on fan bracket and two 120mm cooling fans for my case (CoolerMaster 830) to help with a heat build up when both SLI graphics cards are going. But today I stumbled upon the Aptec Cool Spot fan. A smaller product but a third the price and looks just as easy.

Anybody have experience with the Cool Spot?

The problem I have with fans like those is that they only move air around inside the case and don't push air out, at least not very well.  IMHO you would be better served mounting fans in your case that either push air out (best case scenario) or push air in (not as good).  This way cooler air is moving across your system cooling the components.  Hope this helps.
