2 DLL upgrade

3 OPPLUS 4 ships and models

4 Scripts.exe added scripts

5 Forge scripts

6 Gamespy account

7 Ports 2300-2400 and 47624 forwarded

8 SFCOP directory server update fix installed and config below

Name="ServerSetup"

[Settings]
SingleThreaded = 1
CreateCentralSwitch = 0
SinglePlayer = 0
BlockSize = 10000 // How many micro-seconds to spend on server side stuff before doing page flip
DelayMultiple = 1.0   // What multiple of time to wait before going back to server side stuff
PacketQueLimit = 75    // What

[CentralSwitchSetup]
Listen = 0

[WONDirectoryServer]
//ServerPath = "/StarFleetCommand2/Game/Release"
ServerPath = "/StarFleetCommand2/Game/Release"
//ServerPath = "/StarFleetCommand2/Game/Release_Test"

[WONDirectoryServer/Addresses]

Should see 2 servers, Strayy's Tavern and The Forge.
Sometimes it does take a min or so for them to appear, expecially on a fresh install.
Try again and wait a few minutes to see if they appear.  ;)

Didn't work , sat there for over 5 minutes.  Are the paths correct for the Dynaverse servers addresses?  Are they suppose to have a "" in them?   To strange.

um...don't know.
Perhaps someone with more tech knowledge could tell ya... ;)
But, if you have the directory server updater patch, it should be right.
Donno, looks like ya got everything you need.  :-\

Nope :(   Ah well, I guess is single player campaigns.

P.S. I even disconnected my router and plugged my main PC directly into the cable modem , no luck.   I get on the Dynaverse, just don't see anything.

What operating system are you running it on?
Are you using a software firewall?
Are you allowing ICMP echo requests? (pings)

This is Brakner on work account / PC

XP

No firewall  other than router

Only way I can allow pings is to disable Natting and allow anonymous ICMP requests , not to comfortable with that.

Are you sure you need to disable NAT to allow pings wanside on the router? That does not sound right. What make and model router is it?

Are you sure you forwarded 2300-2400 TCP&UDP and 47624 TCP? (note a static lan config is required for port forwarding to work)

Ah wait...

P.S. I even disconnected my router and plugged my main PC directly into the cable modem , no luck.   I get on the Dynaverse, just don't see anything.

Then it may not be the router.

What kind of connection is it? (Oh wait, I can check... Shaw cable... but the IP address does not look right for cable... :huh:)

X.X.13.0 is my shaw cable external facing IP, X.X.74.170 is my work natted IP.

I am going to do a full deleted and install with that 5.1 enhancement pack and see if that does anything.  This has got me curious :)

What kind of modem did Shaw give you? Is it combined with an HDTV box? It seems odd to me because that IP address is not on the standard cable block.

Its just a standard Motorola Surfboard ( stand up kind ) that they issue with their Shaw extreme internet.

My Whois shows as Shawcable.net New West , maybe its a new IP range since they just fully upgraded our area in the last year.

Edit:

Oh and my Router is an old Linksys WKPC54G , hasn't failed or been down in 4 years :). Only option to allow ping from outside is to disable "block anonymous internet request" under Security or to put my internall IP into the DMZ, both of which I have done briefly to no avail

ok so a fresh install with just Enhancement back 5.1 fixed it.  I wonder what it installs ( or the order it does it ) that the 4 or 5 steps on the "connecting to dynaverse" guide doesn't.... thanks for all the help

Along with the fresh install and Enhancement 5.1 only I also did this.

-Added 2 entries for each port , one UDP and one TCP.  Maybe this fixed it and not the reinstall, who knows.  Oh,

- Downloaded those 2 missing OCX files that the addons kept nagging  me about, seems neither were in my System32 folder to begin with.

Some routers do not have TCP & UPD as an option, thus for any game that requires TCP&UDP then you would then need 2 entires, 1 as TCP 1 as UDP to get the same effect
