HAHA awesome!. The fins work great to kind of bridge the era's and the crescent sillouette (from the side) of the center bits gives a great visual interest. It's circular without actually being circular. I love it.

I think it's pretty different. As long as the textures make them look far and apart from cardassian ships you have a winner, cuz their hull is slightly similar in general shape. Andromedans do come from another galaxy, so I was hopeing for a more radical departure from standard looking ships. Mb your textures can take it in that5 direction...

Looks a bit like covenant influence? ;)

Still, awesome idea and look! I always found the Andromedan ships to be a bit ont he "silly" side. They practically look like 50's saucers...

A most needed design update! (Winner!)

those round mouth-looking bits along the rims, I'd think.

Sense of Humor alert...

The 27th century Cardassians stole Andromedan technology!

Seriously, very intriguing designs Atolm.

Updated the design somewhat to better fit my vision:

And as always, special thanks to the Z for rendering the ship out for me.

Atolm is probably the finest modeler I've seen work this game.  Some folks have made some wonderful pieces of art, but Atolm makes entire fleets!  This Andromedan is awesome.  I can already see it with a terrifying black texture!

As far as the revision goes, the warp engine nacells look a little too familiar, almost Federation.  More wierdness is needed, perhaps an egg shape ending in a spike.  As is, it's far better than anything I've seen, before.

thanks mates,
Those pods are not the warp nacelles, but are the sub-light engines.
the Andros have regular warp, but they also have a type of "jump" system too.  So, I figured that those cut-outs along the whole rim of the vessel would be used somehow, in sync, with those "eye-like" structures to acheive FTL options...

All kinds of awesome  ;D

it's near impossible for a design not to draw parellels with something that comes before it but I disagree that this looks like another trek race, I do wonder what colour you envisage the hull and with what features?

Well, I guess it would be Green(andros are green...lol) but I want to do something with the hull aztec, like a hexagonal honeycomb like set-up.
Also, I've added a few more details here and there that are not shown in the renders thus far.  The biggest problem is actually not becoming lazy and shelfing the project...I mean I already have a few more TOS roms for you guys that have textures, but are waiting on Tus for finalization and adding his 2 cents to the mesh and textures.
Anyway, unfortunately this is ultimately a 50/50 project, and as such, I may, or may not continue it past the meshing stage, as I already have more ideas I would like to attempt, and I have more Romulans that need to be made...
Glad you all like her :D

Certainly a breath of fresh air compared to the other Andros we've seen.

Why not give it a kind of 'wet' texture also, like the whale probe from STIV (if at all possible?).

What do your sat ships look like, Atlom?
