Okay, so we're getting the final little touches done here with the upgraded forums software.

What do you think?

I voted Boobies, because well, they where an option. Seriously though, I love the upgrade. Everyone involved did a great job here.

Well done, it took a couple of days to realize the change in the welcome screen (clicking new doesn't take you to the last unread post anymore). But especially with image heavy topics, the speed increase is most welcome.

Ah, you mean the "new" button links in the "New Discussions" section on the front pages? Good catch. I should be able to fix that. Thanks for pointing it out.

Ya... new buttons sends you to the beginning, clicking the linky though sends you to the newest post....

Fixed - New discussions text link is to start of topic (SEF), "new" button links to new posts. That makes more sense!

I don't really like the font for the message text. Not sure if there is a way to change that on my end or not, but whatever font it is it seems a little too round and squished together. Kind of hard to read at least to me it is. Otherwise, it's cool.

Well, if you haven't yet, give the "Taldren" forum style a try.

It's almost like being there, back in the old Taldren forums.. ahhh the Glory Days of SFC.

Speaking of which - give your glory, adulation, praise, cold-hard cash and / or stocks and bonds to Sir BONK, for t'was due to his hard work and testing that this upgrade came about.

I think I agree with you on that. It is not quite the same. Let me try a few tests in this post and then maybe have a poll?

Tahoma (current):	The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
Arial:	The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
Verdana:	The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
Times New Roman:	The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
Georgia:	The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
Andale mono:	The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.

Trebuchet ms:	The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.

Arial and Times New Roman are my tried and true fonts... Tahoma is the same font we used on the old forums but it seems to come through differently on this version.

Any suggestions?

Where is that section under Profile? I don't see anything resembling that, or font changes for that matter.

Click Profile.. click Look and Layout.. then the first line in the box asks you about the Theme.. lcick change and select Taldren.. click OK and it is that simple.

I like it I chose Taldren. and its easyer to read. pages sem to load faster as well.

They may have more then "a pair" but they are still in pairs, normal is multiple of two's. Very rare for an odd one.

The old software made it easier to know when you had new private messages. I also don't like the dull grey icons that don't show when a new post is in a forum.

I'm cranky and I don't like change.

Although, posting time seems to have improved significantly overall. I'd have to wait upwards of 20 seconds sometimes to get a post posted.

Agreed. I did a quickie job on the images. The two images for that are not distinct enough and lack colour. I intend to change them.

Again, if anyone feels inclined to produce any Dynaverse.net themed SMF2 forum images, by all means post away!

I like this new orange/yellow scheme to the unread boards.

Oh, and also how sent PMs are now automatically saved. I recall having to check a box to save outgoing messages with the old software, but this is much easier.

when you click on your name from the main. I came up with the options to see the different unread messages like it does now, but also listed # of messages and if you had new ones there.
