Eduardo Almeida of NASA's Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California, and his team cut the tails off 16 newts (Pleurodeles waltl) before sending them into space. While the tails did regrow, as they do on Earth, they were less than half as long as normal.

I wonder how it would do in Lunar gravity and if that would be any different from gravity simulated by rotation.

I imagine it would be the same, however it would be kinda funny if the Newts tail grew like a curly Cue French fry.

I maintain we should be genetically engineering a zero-g tolerant strain of humans for long term space travel. It just makes the most sense.
