Hello All - Long time no see :)
« on: January 02, 2009, 01:31:53 pm »
I was bored at work and thought about  the old SFC days. Typed Dynaverse in to google and it came up with this.

I have been trolling for less than 5 mins and i see some old names i know, I would have thought you lot might have moved on in 5 years since i left the Taldren forums :P It do's not seam like you lot are giving Jinn as much stick as you used to :)

Couple of questions if anyone has time to answer.

1. Did they ever get the OP server kit to run on My SQL ?
2. Did Dizzy ever get round to Slavegirls 3 ?
3. Anyone seen Mog in game anymore, I miss that old git ?
4. Did the Code for the Game ever become freeware so the community could fix it ?
5. Did they ever fix the fighters, as a Hydran i miss my Hornets 3's

If anyone is intrested i bumped in to Max Torp in the SWG forums about 3-4 years ago.

Good Luck all and nice to see the game is still alive and well.

Can't answer them all but for #1 yes, it does run on mysql.  #2 we finished SlaveGirls 8 or such alittle bit ago and the next one is being worked on.

1. Yes
2. We're up to SG 8 (or is it 9?) Another is planned for the near future. Watch the Dynaverse II forums for announcements regarding it.
3. Mog is long "retired" from SFC
4. Not freeware, but it is in community hands, I believe.
5. Donno, what was wrong with them?
DieHard's SFB fighter list is still my favorite.

Hi Can-able!

We have the OP Serverkit source and the EAW client source. That's the good news and the bad news. We haven't gotten much done with either yet as we suffered a hardware failure on our development server soon after getting the eaw source. We'll have a new development server up soon.

David Ferrrell's fixes were the last changes to the fighters in op I think.
Quote
--------------
02 Patch fixes in 2.5.5.2
--------------
1) Drone dates in online and single player Meta now available per SFB dates (not Era) Medium in 167 and Fast in 180.
2) Fighter Fusions do not obey shot limits - fixed.
3) AI having ships before they are released into the shipyard - fixed.
4) PF's and fighters will not fire heavy weapons on Fighter groups, just Point Defense - fixed.
5) In Hostile Skirmish mission if a captured freighter is subsequently destroyed, the mission will end improperly - fixed.
patch changgelog attached.

To answer the fighters problem.. do not launch the game from the SFCOP.exe game file.. that is what breaks fighters badly.. launch game from the StarfleetOP.exe game file to bypass a good number of game bugs.
