Is there a viewer that allows you to look at SFC models (MOD files) and the like and if so where might I find it? I am trying to get a better sensing of how model look in this game as I don't actually have it.

Go to the download section, SFC:OP, get Model Viewer.

I've got the Taldren mod viewer has any one thought to create a mod view that shows larger display window with Monitors getting bigger and higher Rez
maybe its time to develop a larger screen monitor to show the ships.

You can DL the demo of "Ultimate Unwrap 3D" (www.unwrap3d.com) and get the SFC plugin for it, from the same sight. It doesn't show lightmaps, but gives you full screen viewing of .mod files, as well as many other game formats.
