Diplomatic Courier??
« on: November 28, 2008, 01:19:35 am »
Inspired by a sketch found over at Treknology.org

Still a WIP and in need of some refinement, any advice, input or otherwise helpful comments more than welcome.

of course I cant release it until I get permissions to use concept.

Following is a direct quote from source page

"Windwalker Class

 Design by Jason, ASDB Member

No specs available

The Windwalker class is intended to be able to easily handle atmospheric flight operations and planetfall, with limited shielding, or light deflectors only - hence the aerodynamic form, including the nacelle housings. Also, they have the option of separating and leaving the warp nacelles behind in orbit. It is
a 4-nacelled ship, it may be a diplomatic courier. Relatively high warp speeds for sustained periods."

the drawing shows the rear of the nacelled rounded, that'd help I think.

yes those I have there are only place holders. I am working on a more aerodynamic set.

Thanks for the input Starforce and Atolm,  but seeing how this ship has drawn so little interest in the past week or so I'll probably scrap it and start something new.

nah, it's the holidays..everyone is too busy shopping and sh*t. Plus, most feddies get ignored till the texturing stage. Plus...the stuff that gets ignored and/or flammed seems to do better in the dl's than the overhyped stuff. Keep'er alive. Show it around on BCC too.

Characteristic of a B2 bomber  :)

Good to see you back in the game Antivyrus.  I wonder how this baby would look with the 4-nacelles on the bottom vice the top.

I agree with the others, the new design looks much better.  I agree with Fallen_warrior aswell, I woudl take out the inner nacelles as they seem to close to the primary hull where most of the crew would be.  Having a Warp Feild so close to the primary hull might complicate things.

I would keep the old design though.  Its not bad, would makie a good "Early version" of this type of design.  Maybe texture the old design based on Ambassador Class components of that time period.   :)

Just an idea.
