Conection questions
« on: November 15, 2008, 11:00:04 am »
Where I live there is a main city power pole next to the house that I'm renting, (moving is not a option either right now) I know it causes problems with my radio a lot of buzzing sometimes, but I am wondering how bad would it be on conection speeds and what not if I got a wireless connection or even a satalight  hook up. Or am I stuck going back to cable if I want to get back on line.

Right now I'm still using the library computers but, I've been thinking of getting one of the cheap walmart lap tops just to get back on line more or less regularly, then using that to build another one.  I'm smart enough to not use these computers at the library to buy anything on line with. And there is not really any computer stores in this town that do nothing more than fix them, and I wouldn't trust them to do even that.
 Thanks in advance.

I would stick with cable, it is always better, short of fibre. Satellite has bad lag, and wireless might very well be affected by that power pole, as well most wireless connections put you on a lan with a private IP (think gaming issues).

It shouldn't be a problem. Cable signal is usually underground and shielded from RF interfearance.
