Concept idea

Was drawing a little today and sketched some possible ship designs. I do not know what race they would be for in SFC, or if they would be for a new race. Since I have no modeling skills this is just for fun. I would be very appreciative of any suggestions on how to improve the design.

I always liked the Daedalus-class and that's probably where the sphere hull came from. The nose is inspired by the Tholian PC design, except that it has four lobes instead of three like the Tholian.

They could be bulbs like a deadalus? Very early vulcan vessels? They got the ring nacelle in there like the enterprise was supposed to have before the akiraprise.

Enterprise was never supposed to be a ring ship.  The ring ship was drawn for another scifi series Roddenberry was working on, and added to the list to make the gap between OV-1 and NCC-1701 less wide.  You don't even know if it was warp capable, so If I had to place it, it would probably be somewhere before first contact.  In fact, one episode of Enterprise depicts the ring ship alongside several other ground breaking ships such as the DY-100 and the phoenix.

Wow, we have another artist in our midst!  :)

I kinda like it. Properly textured and illuminated I think it would make a fine model.

P.S. Is your avatar by your own hand as well? If so, do you have a full size image of it? It is reminiscent of an Aztec mandala, if you will.

Thanks for the feedback! I might mess with the size of the main sphere to get the ship a little more streamlined.

I ripped the avatar from Might and Magic VI, it's an icon for a Dark magic spell in the game. Now that you say it, it does look Aztec.
