A Long Time Coming...

Ever since his passing, I have struggled for a design that would honour his greatness.
 Heston-Class:

Once again, a special thanks to the deadman for creating and hosting the renders.

There appear to be design ques both from Next Generation and the Motion Pictures, will there be multiple versions?

This is a great model, very original. It reminds me of the design you originally created at http://www.dynaverse.net/forum/index.php/topic,163380573.0.html, which I was hoping would eventually be the basis for a model.  ;) Nice work.

Really like this one, looks like an Obereth successor(?)

Small ship, FF/DD type class?

Like the overall look, the saucer has a bit of NX/Akira class look to it, and the support pylon is nicely done.  Even looks MVAM-able, or at least, using the saucer to escape a breach.

Great design.  :D

One thing, the "garage" on the front, is that a sensor suite?  Just not sure what it is personally.. which is why I'm asking.  ;)

Thanks mates
The ship is designed as a possible NCA (look at the bridge and you can see she's not too small lol).
And Atheorhaven, yeah that's front part is a sensor pallet, good eye :)

The design is very nice, the nacelles flow and have a post-TNG era look to them. Very advanced, very symetrical, and not too busy. The saucer section looks similar to the 1701 refit, especially the lower section...while the upper saucer incorporates what I assume to be either fighter/shuttle bays or some sort of deflector dish. From the top down, the design looks alot like a miranda class, except that the nacelles are above the engineering and saucer sections rather than below.

The structural supports that connect the nacelles with the saucer and engineering section are also very attractivly designed and the curved look is much more appealing than the straight across "roll bar" look that the miranda has.

From the bottom up, it looks like the engineering section of a Oberth class, and we see the only part of the model that I don't like much. The main deflector dish doesn't look "right" IMHO. Of course, that design might be due to some model requirment that I'm not aware of but it doesn't really have the flowing design of the TNG era, or the simplistic look of the 1701 refit. I think it comes down to the smaller circular model that's sticking out from the main hull. But that's just a minor quibble, and I think it's just a matter of taste.

Overall, I think the model shows quite a bit of thought, very apealing design aspects while not being too busy.

Very well done.

I actually see her more in the vein of the X-Era (SFC), or late TMP. Which, in my book, is a good thing.

So, are those forward spaces saved for Torpedo launcher banks? "Dirty Harry" fan variants of various ships have multiple torpedo launchers, if I recall.

I wonder what she would look like with the nacelle bracket on a backswept brace, instead of forward-swept.

Reguardless, if she has passable TMP/X-Era textures, I'd happily add her to my fleet.

Well, we see what FoaS does with her, as I handed her over to him.
