Server Restored.
« on: September 16, 2008, 05:36:27 pm »
Sorry about the downtime, we had a issue come up during maintenance.

Of course, we're back. DNS will take some time to replicate, so bear with us as everything evens out.

I see some posts were lost during the outage.  At least everything is up and running again, which is the important part.  Good timing too cause I've got something I've been wanting to show for a while.
The pen is truly mightier than the sword.  And considerably easier to write with.

Looks like 1834 other people can see it Worfy, and they never went down. The Directory services are hosted on a different server than the D.Net webs.

Unfortunately I still can't log in the Dyna II servers.  Did the IP address or something else change?  What's the issue guys?

I am getting the firewall message so something might not be right with the servers.

Not sure what the problem is but I am having the same problem that Worf is having I think. The log in to the access server seems to go normally but when I get to the Server list for SFC3 it is empty. There are no servers showing up no matter how many times I refresh. It has been this way for about three days now. Just posting to let you know that Worf's problem is not an isolated one.

Many thanks

There are still problems with the server as they are not showing game servers showing at this time.

Gamespy is only involved in regards to their authentication of your GS account. They have nothing to do with getting a "firewall" list. :)

Please check the directory services now.

Excuse me?

I'm aware of the issue, but I'm also aware that I'm seeing connections on the SFC3 directory services opening up and closing.

We'll continue to look into this, but please don't make it sound like we're not aware.

Jesh, some people just have no understanding of the world CIVIALITY.

Can someone check the Directory Services for EAW / OP?

Look it up.

I just saw the SFC3 directory services connections go from 4 to 8.

It appears clients are connecting and the directplay test is launching.

Prior to this evening I was getting the firewall message.  Now, it's the blank list, at least on OP haven't checked EAW today.  It's nice to know I'm catching up to everybody else.  :))

Plently of activity on the SFC3 access server as you can see below:

I  also analyzed all packets recieved by Heimdall for any odd activity, a good 95% of it comes off the teamspeak server, and not the directory servers:
snippet:
Code: [Select]
Packet           Time                       Source          Destination          Protocol                  Info
539 20:44:33.290978 67.78.36.183 71.225.241.34 UDP Source port: 8767  Destination port: 51517
540 20:44:33.346675 71.105.122.115 67.78.36.183 UDP Source port: 50291  Destination port: 8767
541 20:44:33.346761 67.78.36.183 71.105.122.115 UDP Source port: 8767  Destination port: 50291
542 20:44:33.510622 98.233.1.89 67.78.36.183 UDP Source port: 53016  Destination port: 8767
Port 8767 is teamspeak  for those that don't know.
No unusual activity is showing relating to the Directory services.

Are people still having problems?

I've been looking at BridgeCommander which is currently as well having problems with servers not showing up in game. The following is a post from Gamespy:

Quote
It has come to our attention that the servers are not showing up in your game's server browser or GameSpy Arcade or on GameSpy Comrade.

There may be an error in the Master Server Query or there is possible maintenance that is taking longer then expected. The GameSpy Admins and Techies have been notified of the problem and are working on fixing it. It should be fixed hopefully soon so please just wait and look for another post confirming the fix or until you see servers in game.

The maintenance or error goes out to ALL games that use our Master Server Query. That means if the game uses GameSpy's server browsing to locate servers, you will not see any. You may how ever still be able to join game's by direct connecting to them through IP address.

Do keep checking everyone, who knows exactly when Gamespy will finally fix their master query server, but keep on checking.

Server Admins, please as well leave your servers running so that way when Gamespy does fix their issue people will know when it is fixed when they start seeing your servers in the list

Why should the gfl be ashamed. I see nothing we posted that was that negative and nothing in this post. I am the CO for the SFC3 group for the GFL and knew before dnet site was back up what the issue was and relayed that to my people. Show me where the post is.
