According to Mike Beltzner, Mozilla's director for Firefox, old and outdated Norton software was responsible for preventing the browser from properly terminating

Indeed, irate users have reported the abrupt disappearance of Norton's Identity Safe password manager after upgrading to Firefox 3.0.1. Symantec responded to the malfunctioning password program by releasing a Firefox 3.0 compatibility update.

It should be noted that Symantec has a history of distributing software that conflicts with other applications.

I always run Norton, and have never had a problem running any version of Firefox.
The pen is truly mightier than the sword.  And considerably easier to write with.

Centrus.. I bet you that you will almost double your computer speed by removing Norton..

PC Magazine has them listed almost as bad as a virus with the way it invades your computer in 4 different locations..

Most AV only installs about 64 Mb.. Why does Norton have to install over 400 MB?

Computer performance hit with Norton is 28% off the top and gets worse over the course of time.

The biggest problem Norton has is with software or patches installing to a computer.. corrupting software.

I can see how Norton can effect browsers because of this.
