Why can't you do brk.mods?
If Romulans aren't cowards, then why do they taste like chicken?

Ah. Sorry, I thought maybe you were using Milkshape and was going to suggest trying Gmax.

to do a brk.mod all you actually do is:
Take the ship apart Chuunks at a time.
You select a piece then Detach them from the ship. I believe you can have multiple Detachments.

I barely know how to use studio max. I can kitbash just about
I saw a video out that showed how to do break mods in studio max, but can't for the life of me remember where it was.

from what i remember about BRK mods is the you chunk out the pieces of the ship and cap the open bits with a damaged looking texture and set up some pivot points (dummy objects similar to the HP objects) so the pieces fall apart. i may be willing to help out some, i have a little extra time now that things have settled down on the home front.

Ok, this is what I do for break models (I don't make them either). I copy the un-broke model, apply the damage texture, I beat up the model and twist it all up, and then add the glow with the SFC3 glow tool. I make the glow HUGE! Then I go into the, I think the textures file, and replace the glow boring glow texture with an explosion texture. That is what I did with my Terra Prime mod. It makes for some pretty impressive explosions:

I dont think it shows caping holes and apply damage textures to the new polys. If i remember right this was for sfc2 where the brk up was to fast to see any damage.

I think SFCII does it's own capping and applies a generic texture to the open areas (it has always looked the same to me).

I will help in any way I can, including joining Outlance if that is what is needed. I'm pretty close to retiring now, so I can do what I want :)
