SFC3 Online Play

Right, i'm a returning player to the game. When the access servers went down i assumed that SFC3 was offically a dead stick! Wasn't only until today I found about the Independent Dynaverse Access Server. I'm eager to get back to playing as you can imagine! But i feel a bit lost with all the various patches, builds, mods, stuff floating around.  :o

Can somebody please, just treat me like the simpleton I am and tell me what it is i need to download to play online again. I haven't got the game installed, so presume im starting from scratch. Do i need any previous patches official or unofficial before get the server thing?

I would go and look in Dynaverse 3 forums for patches and mods that are being played.

Ok, basically, you just have a fresh install of SFC3, pick your favorite mod that may have a server up, follow the install instructions for that mod (most cases they require you to install either the 531 or 534B patches before installing the mod), and then install the access server patch which is located here at Dynaverse.net or at SFC3Files.com.

That should get you up and running.  If not, just post back and let us know.  We'll be more than happy to help you out.

Nearly there. I keep having trouble with the DirectTest Host bit, as it cant seem to find my outside IP address. Presumably this is solved by port forwarding?

Also, what Mods are actually running these days?

Check the SFC 3 section of this forum for Mods..

You can set your Router to DMZ mode to play online or follow the readme file as well as the Gamespy Arcade help section for proper port configuration.
