For the “F&Eish” campaign we need a way for base assaults to be challenging yet actually winnable. I think I have it worked out but I’m going to need some people to do some testing. We’ll need to install a BETA version of the mod and you all know how much my installer suck so this isn’t for the feint of heart . . .
Concept: Need to simulate F&E/SFB base assaults within the limitations of SFC:OP. This is a PvP concept where the base should be defended by human players and controlled by a human.
Problem: A human controlled starbase with 2 human wings is nearly unbeatable with the fleeting rules we’ve established over the past couple of years and want to use similarly on this server. We need to see what can be done so that a human-controlled Starbase with human-controlled escorts can actually be beaten without bringing in 3 BBVs.
Solution: here’s what I’m thinking so far:
1. The SGO ubber-bases are gone. Back to “Stock OP+” stats. Some stat adjustment may be needed, but that is what testing is for.
Bases will not be a mission-generated objects, they will be a ship assigned to a pilot. I've modified the ship list already for this to work. This way damage and supply usage will be cumulative throughout the battles for that base.
2. 9v9 fleets fleets will form in the same manner as fleet actions in Empty Space. The base counts as one of the ships.
What we more or less need to determine is when attacking in waves, how many ships are needed to actually take out a base.
