Yeah, that's my model. Glad you guys like it. I'm reluctant to release the full model because it represents a significant financial investment. I have a lot of respect for those with the talent to create models and it's pretty cool when these guys, doing this in their spare time, choose to release their models.
That's not the case here. First, I'm not a modeler. I'm the guy with the wallet and I make resin model kits as a (small) business. See, I use a specially constructed CAD model (i.e., watertight) to grow on a 3D printing rapid-prototyper, which I use to make my molds from. That detailing you see on the hull? That's part of the model; it's not a texture map. It's also very time-consuming and expensive to do. I just don't want a model like that out in the wild. As is, the model probably wouldn't work too well in game anyway, since they're ~20MB after converting to .mod (again, without any textures).
OTOH, I'm considering releasing a naked model that anyone else could add the appropriate texture maps to and otherwise convert for use in SFC, et al. I actually feel this way about all of my models (currently ~a dozen Trek models). Stripped models suitable for game use are OK, full blown ones...not OK.
If your goal is just to get the models into the game, I'd say that's reasonable.
