Need a hex map of the SFB world as detailed as possible.
« on: July 12, 2008, 07:35:51 pm »
Gonna do a map to represent various fronts so I need a map that shows all bases, planets and trade routes. Super detailed. Anyone have a map like that?

I got that one. Isnt there one in F&E that is more detailed and shows terrain?

I'm pretty sure that's not the case.  F&E doesn't concern itself with terrain, aside from where the planets are.

Terrain would only be a factor if you were playing a battle out using SFB...

There is an SFB rule that can be used to determine what terrain the battle will take place in...essentially a % chance different terrain features are present.  You could do something similar...

The dynamap needs terrain... Be nice to know where to put it.

I looked at the terrain options for scenarios....using it makes for an equal chance of any given terrain type as any other, which doesn't really sound right.  Empty space should be the norm, Black Holes and Roids the exception.

Just assign some terrain arbitrarily...

Thata what always happens. I'm using ght e new definitions so I need to make sure that  the new missions will work with the ninth race and the new terrain.

IIRC, there was a very large, fairly well detailed SFB map made for the Cyberboard game box.  I had it on my old computer, let me check some of my back DVD's to see if I still have a copy of it.

Unfortunately, that is just the Federation and Klingon empire.

Here is the cyberboard website: http://cyberboard.brainiac.com/

Doing a web search... I found this: http://www.vassalengine.org/community/index.php?option=com_vassal_modules&task=display&module_id=544

The guy has the cyberboard stuff made with permission of ABD, but does not have permission to host it.

So you will have to contact him via email:  rindis@backbreaker.com

Here's one I used to base my sfb-op map on, I used this and a pdf of the actual F&E map, then came up with my own scheme for the cartel slots. (I could give you the sfb-op map but can't get to my backups for a while yet.)

This one still needs work, but its a good start. (It's an EAW map)

I had no idea you frequented sites for Buccaneer Trannies.  I mean, it's quite shocking to see that you are visiting PirateSexChange.tripod.com.

There is map of the SFU and explanations of all important planet locations and what few 'terrain' features there are.  This is located on pages  155 to 159  of the GURP 4e Prime Directive book.  Some kind hearted soul may scan them and send them to you.   Currently that wont be me right now.

Many moons ago I made a stock FnE map w/ Artifex (tedious indeed) emailed it to one of the server admins

I have attempted to locate in my stack of back up dvds -- but no luck.  Perhaps if I labeled em with something other than "c drive stuff and backups galore" it would be able to find it easier.
