Doctor Who Fanalie
« on: July 27, 2008, 04:05:37 pm »
I just watched the season ender of Dr. Who called The journey's End on You Tube (it is broken up into 7 parts and is 90 min long) .. the ending left me questioning so I had to check to see if there was going to be any more seasons..

Well, not in 2009.. however there are going to be 4 specials over the next year, first one is going to be this Christmas season..

However Season 5 will air in 2010 starting in the spring..
Looks like David Tennant will be the 11th doctor as well since he uses a regeneration at the beginning of the season 4 final episode, however does not use it to change, but for another purpose.
Highlight with mouse to read.

anyhow, news about Season 5 can be found here

Series Five

Doctor Who to return for fifth series in 2010.

After months of media speculation, the BBC can confirm that the BAFTA award-winning Doctor Who will return for a fifth series in Spring 2010.

Viewers are in for a treat this Christmas, as a special episode starring David Tennant and Kylie Minogue will be broadcast on BBC One in December 2007.

Series Four, which went into production in July 2007, will hit UK screens in Spring 2008, followed by a special episode for Christmas 2008.

In 2009 Doctor Who will return with three specials starring David Tennant, with Head Writer, Russell T Davies.

The full-length fifth series will transmit in 2010.

Jane Tranter, Controller, BBC Fiction, says: "Doctor Who is one of the BBC's best loved and most successful dramas. Its journey over the past three series has been one of the most ambitious and exciting that we have had, and I'm delighted to be able to confirm not only three exciting specials for 2009, but a fifth series in 2010. "

Menna Richards, Controller, BBC Wales, says: "The success of Doctor Who is a fantastic tribute to the dedication and expertise of the production team at BBC Wales who have worked on the project from the outset. This announcement is marvellous news for all involved, and more importantly for the programme's amazing fan base and audience. BBC Wales is looking forward to producing the fifth series."

Also on the Season 4 ender .. it is 90 min long and may be showing an hour earlier.. so check your Sci-Fi times.

well if they are taking time to wright good stories and don't deviate from the stories its ok to wait until 2010 for another season, just don't let those who wright the last episode of voyager and enterprise touch doctor who.

Pestalence, I really hope your spoiler turns out to be wrong.  I'm absolutely desperate to see the end of Tennant.  He reminds me of the worst parts of the fifth Doctor (Peter Davison).

Have you seen the special called "A Paradox" from the 2007-2008 Christmas specials?

Watch this and you will see where the writers are modeling Tennant after Peter Davison using a short episode bringing the 2 Doctors together..

Episode is called "A Paradox (Time Crash)"
