Novi Sad class refit
« on: June 30, 2008, 04:47:27 pm »
Here's a 'lil something I did in between studying for my entry exams to university. I actually never showed this ship class here so I'll include a render of the original too.  I made the changes on the Nizhny Novgorod type originally (depicted on renders), but I did the changes to the rest of the original fleet too, which comprises of 4 variants.

Why is the ship sad?               >:( Hate myself just a little bit for the compulsion to type that.

Where does it fall size-wise? At first I thought close Constitution 300-320+ meter-ish but some of the windows would seem to suggest larger.

284m's long. That's a type of curse with me, I cannot seem to brake the 300m barrier with my ships. Originally I wanted this thing to be somewhere Excelsior length. And judge size by deck count, not window size. ;)

BTW, Novi Sad is my hometown, the name means New Plant in English.

Looks really good there. I think it will definately improve as you work at it.

Good luck in university by the way.

Really been wondooring about the release, if it will be
People always said they wanted the government to listen to them and now the government is listening, taking notes and names...and coming to see you soon!

Probably because it's an unplayable ship. It's more a work of art than something you can practically use in the game. I like it. Nice job. But I prefer the cheaper toys you can get your hands on. Good work at any rate, Adonis. You're a tool.

Altho I saw an SFC3 port of DJ Curtiss's Century class (which is somewhere in the 20k poly range mind you) it really depends on the mod file size. Texture-wise, she isn't a resource hog (considering 1024 rez textures over the 2048's I used in the renders). Dizzy it seems still doesn't get this. I use far less textures than most others (just for comparison sake, a 2048 texture is less resource expensive than it's counterpart 4 1024's because it's a single texture not 4 separate ones, it does make a difference).

In a way they strike me as windows? That's the only part that I find odd...

Great mesh though!

I'd imagine when the nacelles are on-line all you'd see is the standard reddish-orange glow filling up that space.
