Hi
I hope that I hit the correct forum for this..
I've started a new single player campaign and, I'm frustrated. At first, a klingon mission (where I should protect the Unity base from freighters) wont start, because nothing is moving, even the ships are failing, I have to scan. Okay then I tried the federation campaign and here is the next mission, which is not makeable.
Ship: Souvereign - 3 quantum torpedos, two lvl 12 phaser and two pulse phaser. rest on maximum.
- The first battle: I fly in warp with all other ships to the battlestation and get destroyed. 10 seconds maybe.
- Next Battle: I let the ships (I cant command) fly to the battlestation and I try to kill the defense plattforms from behind. I cant even scratch their shields.
Going into close combat - boom.
- Next Battle: I try to fire in artillery modus: I go very slowly to the defense paltforms and try to take them out only with my quantum torpedos. No chance, the platforms have a haigher weapon range. Boom
- Next Battle:
I warp dirctly after the start to the planet near the battlestation. I beam a marine over and take the planet. All weapons are now addicted to the planet. I think: Fine, then I can attack everything from the background. Well, no. When I get close, I get shot down.
But with this tactic, a single defense platform was within my weapon range and it was shooting at the planet. So I was able to take one from 4 out. No scratch at the battlestation.
- Next Battle:
Tried to do it with a cloaked Defiant. Well, no, bad idea. I come near, but when I decloak, I get shot.
In every battle, I was able to take down all enemies, but not the installations.
There is one way, I maybe can do it: I increase the weapon Range of my quantum tuben on 80. Then, maybe, I can do it, when I'm VERY close to the planet. But with this tactic, I wont kill the shields, I think.
So, any suggestions? I dont see, how anyone even could get close to the station and survive over 30 seconds. And within this time, I have to destroy the battlestation, yes? No way!
Please help me!
