Textures will follow the same theme as the gagarin.
thanks

Intrepid style impulse engines

That's too advanced for a ship like this. my best guesses would be either 1 above the shuttlebay structure and/or two on the saucer on each side of the pod strut.

Interesting, im gonna go with the saucer idea as pointed out by adonis, purely to keep this in line with the theme of the timescale but it also leaves rear torp options open.

thanks guys  ;)

Added impulse engines to the saucer and secondaries to the necelle struts and also rear torps above the shuttle bay.

Well, given the fact that the struts seem to be half a deck thick (which isn't much), you don't have the space for impulse engines there no matter how you put it.

Think the impulse engines on the saucer are perfectly placed.  :)

But just a personal opinion, I don't think you'd need the secondaries unless you're going for a MVAM style ship.

Thanks guys, i agree with the secondary impulse engines and they have already been removed, the mesh is now 100%, spent the last few days, finishing it off, smoohings groups etc, modified certain areas, such as the front tubes, enlarging the deflector, adding the bridge and making the pylons thicker, i will map her out over the next few days.

I have one small, easily fixable nitpick left for this thing.

Do a connecting structure between the nacelles and their struts, only TOS ships didn't have those.

Dang, seeing this makes me feel like redoing my wip...details details details. :o After I play around with MAX some more, I might remember how to do some of that stuff, lol. Great looking ship, can't wait to see it painted. ;)

Just a small render related heads up, tone the bump down by half and don't bevel the windows ;)

What's the size of the texture map for the saucer?
The pen is truly mightier than the sword.  And considerably easier to write with.

texture maps are 2048 x 2048 for now, until im done sfcIII version will have 1024 x 1024 saucer textures, bumps reduced, (thanks for the tip) registry reduced for cannon reasons.  ;) and hue of textures changed.

big images so you can see everything and pick up what needs to be fixed.

thanks  ;)
