USS Diligent?
« on: May 08, 2008, 02:17:23 pm »
I did a quick search of the board first to see if it had been doen before and I couldn't any conclusive evidence that it had so now I'm just flat out asking the community, Has anyone released this ship? If not, would anyone be interested in bringing this baby to the game? Let me know and I'll talk to the guy who I think is the designer about getting permission and maybe one of the meshes already made for some of the beauty shots over at sci-fi meshes.com

Here's some beauty shots and I attached a study/profile pic

No not THE cromwell, sorry, didn't know this name was already famous. I'm acutally more commonly known as Natherion but my OC's name is cromwell so I went with that for this board.

I like everything about this design except for the profile. Looks like a "lump" from the side.
If Romulans aren't cowards, then why do they taste like chicken?

I agree with you there, from a straight shot like above or the side it looks kinda bleh, but from any angle it looks just gorgeous. I truly trek worthy design. I would love to play this ship.

Keep crossing your fingers. I have some ideas for this...
Alternate universe:  Khan was banished for preserving the peace. The Genesis device was really a super weapon and kirk had planned to use it on the klingons. Chekov found the Botany Bay and khan hijakced and killed the evil reliant crew in an effort to destroy the genesis device.    Ahh i love it :D The alternate universe rocks.

Its a really nice ship, but it looks like he kinda got lazy on the underside or just couldnt think of what to do down their, with a nice re-work of the underside of the saucer section this could be one of the finest designs i have seen for some time.
Oh and he should have chosen another name, as the other dilligent is way to cool to steal the name lol  ;)

honestly I couldn't care less about the name per say. I mean asylum called one his mosy beautiful pieces the garigan, I have no idea what that means/is from. Nor do I think the name sounds very valiant but because Asylum put so much of his hardwork and talent into that beautiful model, when I downloaded for my game, it was the garigan class. (gorgeous ship btw incase you missed it for some reason.) I just think the ship is gorgeous, the diligent that is, I'm back on that now, and would love to see it. F9thOmega.... *kisses your feet* anyway. I love the chit chat about the design though. Someone said rework this and rework that but I'm curious, how would you rework it? if possible can you post pictures (drawn or otherwise) btw this isn't meant to be an insulting challenge just incase it's coming off as such. I would just love to see more ideas especially relating to this ship. oh btw? anyone ever do the excaliber from the STO? there was a post for it I was watching but it seemed to die.

The Gagarin was named after Yuri Gagarin, and personally, I think it was a good choice.

This guy was the gent who literally strapped his butt into an experimental ship and flew as the first human in space.  He did it for his country and his beliefs and whether you believed in those or not.. without those first flights, we'd not be sending humans into space today.

Personally, I understood the name choice, even if it is kind of out of the ordinary for what we usually see..

i chose the name gagrin because i was reading a book called the space race at the time, it was basically about how the two scientists Wernher von Braun and Sergei Korolev where driven after world war II to build the first rocket to reach the moon, best book i have ever read so if ya get the chance fellas it definatley worth a read. Oh and gagrin being one of the pioneers of space travel, amazing his name hadnt been used before.

 :)

awesome possum. The name garigan has stuck to the ship in my mind. To used to seeing it as such that it'd be weird to attach another name to it.

That ship is nice, too bad we don't have the tech. to make that type of ship. That thing must be using some sorta force field to push the ship, but it's still is awesome.
The truth is like a thriple-edged sword, your side, their side, and the truth.
