Server Kits
« on: May 18, 2008, 06:45:29 pm »
Will the newest server kit for OP be posted here anytime soon, I find b36 but I believe b37 is the newest released so far.  I had found it at I think SFC2.net before but having trouble making it to the main sight over there.

A listing of the setting for the config files would be awesome also, I know you guys have worked on getting settings that work out, but I have found little on what is best to use.

Build 37 has been out for about 2 or 3 years now.. It is on my old web site.. let me post a direct URL to it..

BTW.. B37 is more customized for SQL where b36 is more customized for flatfile.. but either kit will work in either mode.. just b36 will handle flatfile better and b37 will handle SQL better..

I currently am running Hardcore on Build 37... in flatfile mode

Also Hardcore is going back to OP + v4.0 shiplist in the morning to correct some problems with Monster and Convoy Raid scripts.

I had Figured you would have a beta or alpha versions sitting around by now.  I just read about build 37 to be used, but here on Dynaverse you have B36 in the file area, just thought it might be nice to get all the chickens in one coop, instead of over to one website, then off to another, etc.  It's probably not much for those of you in the loop, but for us who are looking in, it's a bit of work digging around.

So far I have run a couple of test b36 servers on flatfile, but want to move up to the SQL version for an ISC campaign I have bouncing around in my head. Thanks for the info, I will plop out a few other questions as they come up for me.

I am still getting files organized and sorted out and put up online.. There are others here trying to do the same.. however many of us had personal web sites long ago where we stored our files.. It takes a while to get things all into 1 place.. Like me for example.. I had to take 1 and 1/2 years offline.. I couldn't do anything.

The best way to find stuff is to use the Forum Search function.. the second way is to Google or Live Search it..

If people put a request for a file up on the board.. I usually will get them a link, unless someone beats me to it.

We are all here to help and have fun..

Oh I know you guys have been great when I pop a question up, it is answered fairly quick (and most of the times the tone of the answer isn't even condecending, tho once in awhile you get a [sheesh, don't you know that kind of an answer])

The link to your old site for the build 37, I could only download alittle, it would start and stop right away, and in the zip file there is only three files.  Not sure if it was my connection or what, I tried about 5 times and got the same short zip file each time.   I got onto StarTrek Universe (I think) they had a link to the server kit so downloaded it there.

As for taking time to get stuff up, I am still working at typeing up a doc on what I have figured out on the Q3 file (basicly how the assets are layed out and which ones point to the image files) but I run into the problem of I understand parts of it, but it is hard to write up what it is doing in a streight forward simple manner.
