If you are running the Windows XP firewall, you are asking for issues.
UPnP is notoriously bugged for Windows XP firewalls.
Regards,
I am using ICS most of the time here. With ICS enabled, it appears the Windows XP firewall depends on UPnP now. (Seems to me that it never used to) Start the firewall service and UPnP starts too. (Haven't tried disabling the UPnP service to see if the XP firewall will still start without it yet... but I'm working on the web server right now so I'll test that out later...) I always used to just turn off the firewall at the control panel, but that does not work anymore, I have to stop the Firewall/ICS service and then the UPnP service.
Thanks for the tips. Those two services (UPnP and Firewall) were showing as Started even though they were swirched off at the Control Panel. No joy so I suspect that in the recent server/router work here Tech Support as not re-forwrded the ports as they did before. Will work on them ( i.e. more Scotch).
Ah, I seem to recall that, are you on a wireless connection or was that somebody else?
