A question for the ISC players...
« on: April 09, 2008, 06:00:21 pm »
Since no froggies are answering my original post in the General Forum, I thought I'd try here:

Nobody has yet explained to me why the STOCK ISC Homeworld has been portrayed as Star Wars Death Star like in the STOCK SFC: EAW/OP...

Now consider Fleetdock13's version which also looks Death star like:

I, Mudd's excellent and recent ISC planet from his planet pack even more closely resembles the Death star.

I did a Google search and turned up nothing on the description of the ISC "Homeworld."

Actually, the one depicted in SFC: EAW/OP wouldn't that just be the capitol planet?

I mean the ISC are a diverse group of races akin to the Federation so not all of them would want to live on an armored plated world. I did read somewhere that the ISC were forced to defend thier homeworld from the Andromedans.

Here's something I  was toying with:

Let the discussion begin on alternative planet textures...

I don't think they've described the ISC homeworld - Concordia could, for all we know, be an SFC invention to replace the "core systems"...  make it a one planet deal instead of a 5 worlds in one hex deal...

With that in mind, I've always envisioned "Concordia" as a city-world, if you want to go SW I'd compare it to Coruscant.  The armor plating we're seeing could be the ISCs efforts to help defend the natives, too, considering their viewpoint to the rest of the universe...

Now, those textures you've started on would make an excellent world replacement in general, it doesn't have to be tied to Concordia.

To be honest, stuff like this would be best shown in the models forum... :)

I originally posted my question about the ISC Homeworld in the Strange New Worlds thread in the models forum but got no appreciable response there.

I then tried the Genral Forums for a few days prior to posting this topic here. Usually the models forum or the general forums generate some kind of response but I got none.

I mean if anybody wanted to recruit new ISC players this kind of thread could be used to flesh them out and make them more interesting to folks, like me, who don't have 20+ years under our belts playing SFB... The rationale behind the [lack of a better term:] "armored planet" concept would have been a nice read.

Thank you Julin Eurthyr for the information.
