This is a redo of the 2005 Poll by Stephen just to see how things have changed since then.

For myself it is mostly Firefox and a little Konquerer.

Internet Explorer 8.. no problems on any site.. if site looks funky or doesn't work right, I switch to IE 7 mode and things work fine.. IE 7 and IE 8 are in the same browser.. IE 8 is W3c compliance mode for ACID 2, IE 7 is non compliance mode for older web sites that are designed to display in IE 6 or IE 7.

If that was my only error in the post I have one thing to say.

Firefox, I do have both though, I am just waiting for the addons to catch up with the Beta, before I go hard core 3.0 +

I never had IE 7 crash on me either in XP or Vista.

For those of you having problems with IE 7 crashing, install IE 8 and put it into IE 7 mode and try coming to these forums.. it should no longer crash.

IE 7 is only problematic for me on certain sites like this one.  That plus the difficulties of getting op to run on vista lead me to believe that MS does not like this community.  That said, I'ld prefer to wait until IE8 is out of beta before installing it.

Don't feel bad.  Microsoft doesn't like any community, except the community of lots of cash.

IE7, but I also selected 'Other'  because I find it unusable without the PopUpCop add-on...

Instead of installing all that stuff.. just set the IE 7 built in pop up blocker to maximum..

for flash blocking, and scripting stuff.. just install IE 7 Pro.. it is an add on for IE 7 that incorporates a lot of stuff into IE 7, including the ability to download and save YouTube movies and so forth.. that alone is worth it as you can download the entire TOS series from you Tube :)

Back in the IE 5.x days I installed an IE "update" that left me unable to access the Internet until I restored from a backup.  I could connect to the internet but not access it.  It really annoyed me that a browser update could totally block ALL programs from internet access that I never used IE at home again and switched to Mozilla then to Firefox.

What I'm loving about Konqueror is that when I press the stop button, it stops downloading immediately so I can move on to what I actually wanted. Both Firefox and IE take quite some time to actually stop downloading, it seems they try to finish whatever files were already downloading when the stop button was pressed. If those files were large then the only way to move on is to close the browser and start again. Javascript is a major pain for both as the stop button has no affect on javascript scripted downloads, you can press the stop button a thousand times and the javascript will just keep on downloading stuff you do not want.

A functional stop button is critical, Konqueror's works, when I press stop it stops, so I can then move on to load another page.

One of the simplest features of a browser, but one of the most important for me.

It is available for windows (http://windows.kde.org/) but it is still alpha and needs more work. Hopefully it will be finished soon and I can enjoy Konqueror in windows too.
