Has anyone tried it yet? Usually I'll try most betas of software I run, but not so sure that I want to try a beta of the OS.

I'm installing release candidate 2 right now.  I'll report back on my opinion..

Okie.. I installed it and it went fine.. no sparks or anything..

I have a known problem with Sid Meyer's Railroads.  It doesn't like it when I run my graphics cards in Crossfire mode.. In fact, it crashes my machine so hard that I have to do a cold reboot.. it doesn't just reboot itself..

So.. of course the first thing I did after my upgrade was fire up Railroads without taking my cards out of Crossfire mode..

I get a C++ dialogue box that says "DLL experienced unusual request" or some such, and the application ended without booting my box..  That impressed me..

Otherwise, it seems like it boots a bit faster as well.  I'll report anything unusual.

Yeah, SP3 for XP is due out "any day now...", but Beta RC2 has been available for some time.  I would definitely NOT install that on your main working desktop or laptop because you cannot go anywhere from there - such as to the public release of SP3 - and you never know how the un-install will go.

If you've got a test system available, go for it.  I slipstreamed it into my XP_Pro_Corp CD & tested it out a bit and didn't seem to find any problems.
