Out of curiosity, why won't you do SFC2 versions of your models?

I've never played SFC1 or 2.  Apart from reorganising the hardpoint numbers, I'm not too sure exactly what I need to do to make them completely compatible so I leave that to others more knowledgable.  As far as I'm aware, they will work in SFC2, they just won't fire from the correct places.

I tested it and it worked fine, except that it was very small.  I assumed that the glow thing I heard about would make it incompatible with SFC 2, just as illumination makes SFC2 models incompatible with SFC 1.

You really need to find a copy of SFC 1 and OP.  They are great games, and from what I hear much better than SFC 3.

To be honest - I don't usually like those glows in SFC3 and stopped adding them to most models a while ago anyway.

I've been told to hunt the other SFC games and BC before, but I seldom play anything except simple puzzles (like Tetris or its clones), which I occasionally play till I go cross-eyed or get otherwise distracted.

How big is the ship supposed to be relative to a Constitution?  If it has three decks, it is bigger than a BOP or Daedalus.

Are you referring to the height of the saucer, arc of the saucer, or length?  I assume the first, because the last would make it a monster.

Very cool, I love everything about it but that lower pod thingy, very Oberth-ish. Looks out of place for a Romulan design. Fantastic modelling as always Major R  :)

No, the glow is simply ignored by SFC 2 as it never looks for it (the glow information is stored in a .gf file, the model cache in a .x file) and the *_VL.bmp, *_TI.bmp, and *_BS.bmp files aren't read by the mesh, so not read by the game.

The reason that you can't use a SFC 2 mesh in SFC 1 on the other hand is because the illumination texture calls are hardcoded in the .MOD file, which is read by the game and because it can't handle them, crashes to desktop.  But a SFC 1 or SFC 2 mesh can be flown in SFC 3.. you'll just have no glow or illumination for a SFC 1 mesh, and no glow for an SFC 2.  And the hardpointing will be off..
..ooOOoo..totally useless information..ooOOoo..
