So, this past weekend, I went off to Las Vegas to meet up with an USAF buddy who was flying into there for some sort of training or something. Anyways, he had a few afternoons and evenings where he could do stuff, so we went off and did some things out there. Being the Star Trek Fan I insisted that we go off to Star Trek the Experience. He as someone who also enjoys Star Trek agreed.
I enjoyed it. The Klingon experience is better than the Borg one, but I loved seeing Voyager come at you in 3d, getting a sense of the size there. The Birds of Prey that you can see in the Klingon ride however, and the way it works was more fun. There's one part where they transport you via transporters at the beginning which I think I've figured out, but is pretty cool as well.
I thought the gift shops were great, they have a ton of stuff there! My friend picked up a Star Fleet hat, whilst I picked up some UFP and Klingon steel/plastic shot glasses, which since they are bigger than normal shot glasses, makes them perfect!
Anyone else been to this.
I'd say it's good to go out there and see maybe for a day visit, I didn't stay at that hotel however, stayed at one a little further down the Strip. I don't think Las Vegas is really something I enjoy all that much though, it's all about the gambling in the end.
I suppose for the Americans it can count towards being the city of sin, but I really think Amsterdam blows Vegas away. Still it was a fun experience, though I left after the weekend. I think my Air Force friend had to stay and work though so it wasn't all fun and games for him.
