Ultra just called me back again..
they are upgrading me for free to the X3 1000 Watt PSU instead of the 800 Watt as there was a recall on the 800 Watt as of 9 AM this morning... something to due with improperly rated wires in it.
Specs and testing of the X3 .. overall rating of a 9.5 out of 10.. the guy booted 3 systems on the 1 power supply and 2 of the 3 systems were running Geforce 7900's in SLI on them.., plus a server cooler rack.. and they stated that it could probably power 1 or 2 more machines ...
http://reviews.pcapex.com/power_supply/ultra_x3_1000watt_power_supply.php?page=1So I came out great on this deal..
Bought an X2 750 watt for $79.99 at Tiger Direct.. emailed ultra about my concerns.. shipped the box off to them thinking I am going to get an X2 800 watt in exchange per customer service phone call.. they call back 2 hours later and said they would ship me a X3 1000 watt.. Order for the X3 is already in process at Tiger Direct (by way of Ultra Corporate office).. game them the tracking number for the unit I sent in.. and Friday, they ship out without a problem.. The unit they are sending is priced $299.99 at Ultra's and Tiger Direct's site.. but I am getting it for $79.99 due to the X2 750 and X3 800 having problems.
Thankfully PCAPEX and Enthusiast tested this one out pretty good and it passed both company tests with no problem. I'm not sure what Enthusiast's test setup is, but when PCAPEX loads it out with 2 systems connected at one time, or even three systems and all systems can bench 3Dmark 06 simultaneously while 2 are running the Geforce 7900 Gt's configured in SLI on each machine (that's 4 graphic cards) and 1 running the GeForce 5600XT (5 total GPU's) and get a rating of a 9.5 out of 10 (they did show unclean power output when they hooked the 3rd machine to load the PSU) you really can't complain.
anyhow just letting you know.
