Human Ship - Needs clothing, badly.
« on: February 24, 2008, 01:11:08 pm »
Many of you might have played the game Nexus.
This ship is essentially a close remake of the Stiletto from that game. I decided to model her on my day off, and I would like to see her have some textures.

wouldn't look out of place as a B5 EA ship.

.. just thinking exactly that.  Some elements of both Warlock and Omega classes in this one.. :)

If I touched it, it'd be completely Earth Alliance once I was done.  No two ways about it.  :D

May still do that once you release it..

I know. So did my early models from years past, look like B5 ships. Personally, I think this is far prettier than that b5 Omega Monstrosity.

EDIT: To clarify, I think that the B5 models are sloppy. The texturing blew, really. Of course, thats the age of the production taking effect. If one could do this in an UPDATED B5 style, I'd be cool with that. However, what I really want is a Homeworld / Homworld 2 style texturing job, i think.

Nexus had some stunning ships, but the game was such a dissapointment.... Too much of a departure from the Imperium Galactica Roots.
Though Sins of A Solar Empire seems to be stepping up to the plate!!

Great looking model, look forward to seeing a finished version.
God said to the Welsh: 'I am going to give you this glorious land of lakes and mountains.' So where's the catch, asked the Welsh? 'Wait until you see the neighbours,' replied God.

And we continue.

The name "Caesar Rodney" is pretty locked in, but the location for the name is not - in fact i will probably change it.

AHA!  Knew it'd bug me until I figured it out.  I finally pegged it.

This looks like a military version and upgrade of the venerable EA Explorer class to me.  You're not going to build jumpgates, but it will move a lot of people somewhere, and over a long period of time if necessary..

Now I definitely need to see this one done.. I have a new ship for my personal game now.. ;)

Actually, you are correct. It does resemble that ship, doesn't it.

To a large degree, yes.. with the rotational section from an Omega and a bit of Hyperion's conning tower, and even an homage to the Olympus in there at the front.  Personally, I'm digging the ship a lot for just that reason.. I was playing around with one of your later images just to see how it'd look in EA colors.. but I'll send you the shot after you release so I don't influence your work too much by accident.  ;)

Then when I get a chance to finish it tonight, I'll post the mockup image in here.  I'd already called the ship the "Santiago".  ;)
