SFC3 Dynaverse servers
« on: February 06, 2008, 09:56:53 am »
Hello all,

I recently installed SFC3 onto my pc after owning this game for a lil over 2 years now. my old pc couldnt handle it believe it or not lol. anyways, i understand that activision went belly up and this game was only released in the UK, i was lucky to be able to get a new copy of it from a gentleman in Glasgow. for about 40 bux. well problem is that i tried getting onto the Dynaverse server in the multiplayer part ofthe game, lo and behold of course it cant connect. i suspect it is because activision no longer supports the servers in any way, shape or form. is there ANY possible way for me to participate in Dynaverse for SFC3 or am i just S.O.L.? is there a way to change the server address or something? please let me know as soon as possible i'd love to play.

:)

SFC3 was a worldwide release.  And you're right, Activision doesn't support the game at all anymore, including the access servers.  However, D.net now hosts the access servers.  There's a server patch available.  Go to the link below.  If you have any problems, make sure to ask people here on D.net.  We'll do our best to help you out.

At this point I can only speculate as to the reason.  If I had to guess, I would guess that when Activision stopped supporting the access servers, that also put an end to GSA play rooms for SFC3.

Could anyone here help confirm this or correct it?

yes you are using an unpatched version of the game. you will have to download the most current patch which is 534b. then the servers will show up. Most servers are modded and it is achoice which mod u want to use. some are designed for super ships and lots of them some are based on what the game originally was meant for. Here is a link to the patch and Legions at war. Which is a mod from the Galactic Foriegn Legion based on balance of the game.

Hello,
If you accessed via Gamespy there are presently no 464 servers running which Gamespy supports.

The servers are now on the 534b patched as GFL Offkey suggests, the GFL server is stable and very cool.
