as you can see on the screen shot i was wondering if you can make the saucer of the remake like the old one, raising the top and lowering the bottom of the saucer?

hope the screenshot made it clear  ::)

Sorry, either or = I could edit the current saucer to make the changes requested, or swap out this saucer and put on the Connie saucer in its place.  That would give the required changes right off the bat.

Okay, two answers to this one.

1) If you are going for accuracy given the time that the ship was launched, then the Baton Rouge was a contemporary and this ship was launched at/near the Four Year War.  And it'd have been launched about 18 or so years before the Connie lauched, so should have an older hull and saucer type (like the Baton Rouge style saucer that I chose).

2) If you are going for matching the look of the old one, then we're looking at swapping out the Baton Rouge saucer for the Connie saucer.

But if we do that, I think I'll still put out the Baton Rouge style saucer'ed one as well, as I had a horrible idea to do to it.  ;)

I like what I see in here, but ... is it just me, or does this ship look more like a Derf Class Tender rather than a Burke Class Frigate?

.. maybe, I've seen the other design as well with the underslung nacelles.

I think personally, it's closer to a Loknar, minus the lower extensions from the hull.

Derf

Loknar

But hey, it's DK's request, and he'd like something to replace his original ship.. :)

the ship at fleetdock13 are not mine :)

anyway i check the model that i have and found one model that will do, but the warp engines are too big, WZ did one but its a DD and the saucer would be too big.

I have a question, sort of works on the line of the old frigate.  Does any of the modders out there have images of the starliner ships put out for SFB.  I like the ship designs from the models put out from ADB for the game.  If someone made them, I would definetely have to get copies.

The frigate in that series, had smaller engines then the ones on these models and the warp necules(sic) came of the sides of the impulse/engineering section of the hull and slanted outwards and back.

.. okay, have split this into two streams for myself.. one to match the request, and one to match an idea I had.  :)

But here's the ship, still have to clean up textures, but almost there.

this is good, but the engines on the original look bigger from the front view and top view, so now the pylon that hold the engines sould be a bit larger from a side view.

beside that the ship is good  thanks  :D

Tell you what, email me your original MOD file, and I'll scale the nacelles to exactly the same.. I did have to adjust the nacelles due to scale differences between the Saladin and the Baton Rouge.. so I'll scale up the pylons a bit and then vertice edit them to the same join points.  This way, they'll be thinker without (hopefully) appreciable stretching of the texture.

Thanks Vipre... I Mudd did a nice job on the parts, I'm just adjusting the textures and tweaking where the parts go to match some pictures.  ;)

Wait until you see what's on the other development path.. I'm having some fun with it.  >=)

Okay, here's a little hint.  :D

.. okay, scaled against your original.. time for bed..

(also gave me a chance to jazz up a couple of textures for the other line, so of which will spill onto this one.  check out the new blue inlines on the inside of the nacelles.  ;)
