Steel Panthers: WW2 & Steel Panthers: Main Battle Tank
« on: January 25, 2008, 08:52:45 am »
For those who might enjoy tactical wargaming, here are two offered free from the creators. WinSP:WW2 covers 1930-1946 and WinSP:MBT concludes with 1946-2020. Scale is 50m per hex and units are individual squad and vehicle.

While a fan of the WW2 setting I'm very interested in seeing some of the later scenarios such as the Six Day War (004), the Yom Kippur War (007 & 008) and the Gulf '91 scenarios (0021+). I'm also interested in what they have for the 2000-2020 timeframe. Both games can be downloaded free at 147 & 170Mb respectively or can be purchased on CD for $39.95 each.

Check them out at their website The Camo Workshop

Love Steel Panthers.  Been a fan since I saw the box in an EB in Dallas, Texas around 1997.

Played the hell out of SP:MBT last year.  I tend toward the brushfire war type scenarios.  South Africa fighting Angola, or other such.  For the 'hypotheticals', I had a great time with the campaign centering on one battalion of an MEU fighting insurgents and their Chinese advisors in the Phillipines, and one centered on some Polish UN Peacekeepers during an Ethiopian invasion of Somalia.

There are more things in heaven and earth, and in the sky, than perhaps can be dreamt of. And somewhere in between heaven, the sky, the earth, lies the Twilight Zone."

I was looking for custom Steel Panthers: World at War content when I ran across a scenario titled "Red Dawn" for MBT based of course on movie plot of the Soviet invasion of the US.

Never heard of either of these before that.

Actually not the Generals edition just the original. The only difference between the two is that the Original doesn't include the Mega Campaigns. Both are v8.40. Definitely something to look at if you're into Tactical level wargames.
