ARROW CLASS RUNABOUT
« on: January 22, 2008, 10:43:30 am »
So firstly lets get this out of the way....

ARROW CLASS RUNABOUT
=====================

* Multi-Purpose Vehicle for Starbases and Planetary Installations
* Captain's Yacht design for Star Trek: Endeavour - http://undercity.co.nz/st-endeavour/

=====================

Credit Information:
--------------------
Original Design by: Malcolm Lu (Galen) and Andrew Gillespie (Kaden)
Mesh by: Mark Azevedo (Maz1701)
Copyright 2006 The Endeavour Staff

=====================

Technical Information:
-----------------------

* Created with 3DS Max 7
* Polygon count: 299,786
* Lighting: Using the default scanline render, I have set up a "light dome" around the mesh to illuminate it. Be aware that these lights have been set to ray trace shadows, which will increase the render time on slower machines. If you wish to speed up the rendering, change this to the standard shadow map setting.
* There is only one texture map used with this mesh, Impulse_Gradiant.jpg, for the impulse engine glow effect. All other textures are built within the Max file itself.

=====================

All images created with this mesh MUST have proper credit information applied. Please follow through on this, as it keeps us emotionally volatile artists happy, and when we're happy we produce more meshes! :-)

Credits should be applied as follows...

********************************************
Arrow Class Runabout Designed by Malcolm Lu
(Galen) and Andrew Gillespie (Kaden)
Mesh by Mark Azevedo (Maz1701)
********************************************

Editing or altering this mesh is not allowed. Please do not do it! That includes kitbashing the mesh with bits and pieces of other meshes...that's just nasty.

The only exception to this is the hull's NCC number and name. These may be deleted and replaced with new numbers and names to suit your purposes.

Conversion to other formats, such as Lightwave or .obj, is allowed but please contact me first at maz1701@yahoo.com. There may already be a conversion out there that I'll know about, which will save you a lot of time.

Enjoy the mesh, and use it well. We look forward to seeing many images using this beauty of a ship. And let me know if you do use it, as I would love to see what can be done with her.

Thanks!
Mark Azevedo,
AKA Maz1701
maz1701@yahoo.com

Ok thats the original readme for the original ship. as it says it was 299,786 polys which is a tad high for any gaming use..   Looking at the mesh i though it would be possible to create a version for gaming use with very high detail meshed at around 10,000k.. so shaving off a mere 290,000k polys might speed up your games a little lol..

anyhoot, awsome model, the design is sweet and i know it has been tried a few times before.. the version i have built though is nearly 100% perfect to the original, the mesh still needs some tyding up here and their but its about 80% complete, i'll show ya some pics, but work on this model is on hold until i have finished up the gagarin.

Very tight work.

GREAT job!

I'm leaning over a drool bucket as I type :o. I think this is the third attempt at the arrow - hopefully the third time is the charm to get her into SFC. Thanks for sharing AsYlUm!

This one is such a beauty, if I could only afford a 3D printer - I'd print it out in parts big enough to glue together and then live in it! Next best thing is making her part of my SFC Fed Fleet and kicking butt and taking names in the virtual world. Awesome, AWESOME work.

I know - she's a side project and the new Connie's not quite done yet...  :) I just couldn't let the Arrow fall off the front page of topics.

If you need a volunteer to help convert her to SFC - I'm in!

::) Um AsYlum... I hate to bother you. Especially since you just released the new Connie, USS Gagarin (translated as gargantuan gift to the SFC community!) and now you're tackling a new Miranda as well. WOW! However...

The Arrow was about to slip off the first page again - please don't let her "die" a third time. The other two attempts are so far back in the forums, I couldn't find them. Your working mesh looks awesome. Thanks for all the effort!

WOO HOO! Thanks for the update. AsYlum, your skills are simply amazing! I took a good look at the textures on the Gagarin last night and they are stellar, to say the least. I'm sure everyone here appreciates what you've done to energize the forums over the last few weeks.

I'm waiting like a teenager on a prom date to see the Arrow all dressed up!

I hope someone warns the Rommies -- don't come a knockin' when my Arrow's a rockin'! :)

(Typing with all the strength and encouragement I can muster under a hot desert sun -- well under a moon in the comfort of my office anyway :D )

Can't.... let... Arrow... fall off... first forum... page...

Any updates? I'm getting itchy to get my hands on this baby and rename her the Vesper as an addition to the "Shadows of the Federation" Mod. I was even thinking of incorporating her into a few of the saucer sections as Captain's yachts.

I noticed some folks over in the BC community are fired up about her as well as the Gagarin and your new Gagarinda.

those bussards look even worse. you'd be better off with a defiant style bussard setup rather than an oddly shaped block sticking out.

WOOOO HOOOO  :D! The Arrow is back on track. I hope you're feeling better - how's the injury?

The mesh is looking super but I must  agree with Starforce. I think I'd stick with eh original Defiant like bussards. Maybe try spicing them up with high res texture instead of adding polies? Either way, I can't wait to get my hands on her.

Thanks for sharing AsYlum! Keep up the great work.

Don't bother checking out my website for the most recent updates, because I've
been too lazy to update it!  Check Battleclinic!
