Lyran...

Added you to the Coalition forums, found you listed as "Slider"
Good to see you again, sir.  ;)

And there are more here signed up as Alliance than there are in the Alliance forums...someone should add them.
Has anyone stepped up as Alliance SC yet?

Um, no there are not!  :P 12 signed up here and including Hunter from the house of Ternado,  while at sfc2 we have:

deadmansix 353
1AF_C-Los
bca11
Braxton
Capt Jeff
Dax
Father Ted
FA_Frey_XC
KAT-Lyrkiller
Pestalence
SrCpt_SFHQ_XC
SSCF-Ternado 5
Wraith 413

which doesn't show Hunter or Vista handicapped Soreyes.  The upshot is Klingon sensors need a tune-up  ;D since 1 more is signed up at sfc2 at this moment. Including Hunter and not including Soreyes (who might not be able to play at all), alliance totals are 14.  Deadman is the SC and moderator, with me as his deputy after discussions etc on the alliance forum.

25 coalition sign-ups listed in the sfc2 user group.

I didn't actually count the posts made for Alliance, I went by the poll above that shows 15 answered the poll.  ;)
By the same Token, only 18 answered the Poll as Coalition, and we have 25 in the forums.  ::)
Of course, 3-4 of those have already agreed to switch to Alliance if needed.  ;)
And we'll have at least 3 of our own Vista-handicapped players that I know of.
Although, one night on The Boneyard, we had a Vista host, drafting a XP and my XP64, missions ran nice and smooth. A long load up and the Vista user was extremly slow to move on the map, but, otherwise seemed to work OK.
We shall see how it goes with that, I suppose.
And congrats to DM6...hopefully (Don't know if Dizzy will have those this time) he'll get to fly one of those legendary-crewed ships, they're fun, even if they are still a little out classed in later eras.

IIRC, DH didnt have any objections to Leader Crewed Legendary ships. I dont either. But earning a legendary crew is another matter. 15 confirmed kills w/o a loss? Or do we want to open that can of worms?

Questions.

How many people have EVER managed to make the kill ratio to win a Leg.?

How many kills in a row has the BEST ever done?

Perhaps we should look at lowering it to a level where it is at least attainable.  As it stands, there is better chance of Hexx shifting the balance of power in a campaign first. :P

I've done it on past servers many times when we didnt use them. But then again, whoever goes 15 and 0 doesnt need a legendary ship. ;)

Hey- Hexx had 13 or 14 kills in a row before on..SG5 maybe?(Which yes, is far and away my best record ever) Before an unfortunate incident caused my ship to go boom.
Unfortunately I can't remember who the pilot was that killed me, but it's not important.

Dunno though- 15 kills is alot, while I assume it has been done (as I said- I got to 13 or 14 once-although most were in a BCH) I'd think it's pretty rare.

I think.. damn can't remember his name, one of the super elite level pilots went about 20 on the same server flying Lyran.
Really wish I remembered who, doesn't fly that much- but had probably one of the best performances ever (at least in recent years) and he only just beat it I think.

No legendary ships/legendary crews.  Even playing field, please.

And if one is going to use the argument that people need something to worked toward, yada, yada, then I don't think that they particularly enjoy the game for sake of the game itself and should go back to playing Gears of War or EVE.

I kinda like this approach and to take it a little further whoever goes for 15 and 0 automatically gets a bounty placed on their head doubling what their VC is worth. Takers?

Remember I am on Vista too.. and connection to the Dyna is a task in itself.. much less navigating the server.. but hopefully I can find a work around before then.. I'm still working on it.. I have a plan.. but nothing guaranteed.

one more question then.  Since you wish it for 15 kills, does that count in any and all ships in a row? or are we back to only in the same ship, and it must be a vanila?

Really, how many have done it in the said vanila in the last say 6 servers?  How many did more than 5 kills in a row without dying in such ship as the vanila in the last 6 servers?

Or even, how many people have earned the right to fly one(other than leader) by making the kills since we have introduced this idea?           I bet none.

We could always:
A) lower the required kills and/or grant a "bye" so you could lose once and still get it...

B) Maybe try my idea to give them to just the SCs and RMs...that would be 3 per side in this case. It was my intention to make the job of being an RM/SC a little rewarding since it can be more work than just banging out missions.
Maybe that way when asked who is willing to do it, they'll have some reward for taking the responsibility of keeping pilots organized, settling disputes, etc that go along with the title and maybe even actually want to do it.
just an idea... ;)

I'd be opposed to allowing more than 1 leg ship per side to begin with. Have to reward them some other way. Maybe a chance to capture Hexx is enough?

If anyone needs an inducement to take a role or play the game like a free Legendary ship, then I really think they need to ask themselves why they are bothering in the first place.

I, for one, would not expect or accept any special compensation for being an RM/SC, especially a pimped-out ship that gave me an advantage over other players.  I would not find it ethical.

We have put a stop to handing out and assigning cap ships.  The heavy metal point system allows whomever to fly a cap ship within a cap ship limit.  Let's not go back to handing out "special" ships to people based on their perceived community status.

I would not want a Legendary ship, and I don't know who would, especially if you are a PvPer.  It would be like cheating.

I have absoulutely no issues whatsoever with RM's getting a ship with a bit of a boost.

Being a RM is a responsibility that few volunteer for. As someone who's done it (And failed miserably at it for a variety of reasons on a variety of occasions)
I have nothing but respect for those that make a go of it.

And forgive me Lepton- this is going to sound kinda harsh although I really don't mean it to be- for whatver reason I don't remember you ever volunterring or running a side as a RM (if you've done so repeatedly boy am I gonna be embarrased) so I don't think, not having volunteered your own time recently- that really one shouldn't be jumping up and down and saying someone else doesn't deserve something or the time and effort they're going to be putting in.

Ships for RM's is great.
Ships earned with 15 straight victories in the same ship is OK, but I don't see anyone really doing it so not likely an issue.
